It is absolutely astounding what you can find a few feet under the ground over there.

The skeleton of Richard III was found under a parking lot after about 530 years..complete with severe scoliosis and a mortal head wound.

Absolutely brutal (and probably illegal) hit on Seattle QB.

The guy was gunning for his head and was clearly sliding and slowing down AND it was a pre-season game

That family has the priorities mixed. The dog takes piano lessons and the baby is eating paint chips on TOP of the table.

That video certainly meets the definition of the term "Spearing":
What is Spearing?
A penalty called when a defensive player makes a tackle that leads with the crown of his helmet into the offensive player. If the initial contact occurs at the top of the helmet, the tackle is illegal. Spearing is a 15-yard penalty against the defense and an automatic first down. The penalty is considered a player safety issue, as hits that lead with the top of the helmet often result in injuries.

There are "hard hitters" and then there are dirty players.

Doug Plank, #46 for the Chicago Bears (pre-1985 Super Bowl) was such a hard hitter:

Here is where he knocked Earl Campbell on his ass:

I remember reading an interview with Plank once and he made some comment along the lines of 'My goal every game was to see the opposing team's backup quarterback".

Remember when Madonna was young, hot and not (visibly) crazy? Damn those were good times. I can remember getting cozy with Joelle Koerschner on my Senior year chaperoned Euro tour trip (two history teachers, and about 15 boys and 15 girls on a whirlwind tour through England, France, Switzerland and Germany . . . summer 1985?).

Little twat wouldn't let me get to third base though. Then to add insult to injury, starts dating "My Friend" Scott Granbanahan, after we get back!

Yes. That was long ago.
