I am a native speaker of English and I can scarcely understad half of what is said. For Glaswegians, it is literally hopeless.

In Glasgow it takes two pints to adapt the local lingo, hearing I mean. To speak is much more difficult. But I can witness that local Glasgowians accepted my talk as Scottish, though after 14 pints.
