Anything this weekend? Rainy day here today.

I am good for either/both today (Saturday) and Sunday.

I can do a couple hours today at 12:30. Need to wrap up by 3 so need to avoid long search and destroy.

12:30pm (eastern) should work for me.

Maybe we choose something on a smaller map and/or defend to keep the wandering around time at a minimum.

I'll be in the lobby at 12:30.

We just finished up our battle...Salem Church map---relatively balanced sides (I don't know how to work the custom battle generator).

Set it up with an objective and we on defensive. (Steve indicated a 3pm cut off time so didn't know if we had time to roam the battlefield looking)

We were near the objective and got set up nicely in the north center of the map.
Steve set up to the south and east of objective, i was set up to the west of it. Facing south.
We then went scouting the Rebs.

Found DH Hill's division sitting in the lower left corner of map, not moving. No other Rebs sighted.
They were set up on a line facing to the northeast.

As they were not moving we decided to go get them. I moved Kearney to the far west of the map and Hooker at Salem Church, all facing south along the Plank Road.
Steve was deploying to the east of DH Hill.
We were planning a coordinated attack. I would hit them from the north going south. Steve would hit them from the east moving to the west.

I spotted DH Hills ammo wagon....it seemed to be to the north of the Plank Road (with DH Hill to the south of it). Kearney was between them and DH Hill would need to do without his ammo wagon.
The coordination worked perfectly.

Kearney and Hooker engaged almost at the same time and one of Steve's divisions kicked in at about the same time.

The terrain was mostly woods with some openings.
There was an opening along the western edge of the map and I ordered a brigade to work that opening to hit the Rebel arty position in the Reb's left rear.
The brigade that was ordered to move did so but elements of another brigade got their first.
I captured 8 Reb artillery pieces, and only had one of them route on me.
I steadily pushed the Rebs to the south and sent them reeling.

As we were finishing off the last of DH Hill's division, Huger's division showed up in DH Hills's rear so we engaged them as well.

DH Hill lost every man of his division---Huger was bloodied.
The Reb division led by Gen. Anderson never engaged (the 3 hour timer ran out).

Steve's and my results were similar.
I'll let him speak to his part of things.

Yeah, not sure what is going on with the enemy not attacking when we use a defensive setting for us. I have to figure that one out still.

Guess we will just stick to a hunt them down style of fighting.

Hancock mentioned at the end of our battle that he would prefer a 3pm est time start.
