After numerous years, CD Projekt Red (of Witcher series fame) is beginning to put out some media buzz about it's next game.

I owned ye olde tabletop RPG Cyberpunk 2020 back in the late '80s. I think that was what originally made me a lifelong fan of the genre. I hope the PC game hits all the right gritty cyberpunk bits.
8-) 8-)

Very different tone from the previous trailer. I'm expecting Altered Carbon the Game at this point. Tend not to pre-order but I know I'll get this day one.

No release date but rumor is early Summer 2019.

Extensive in-game footage just released.

Note: NSFW -> digital bewbays and a wee bit o' the olde ultraviolence (i.e. lots).

I like how it´s middle-aged guys giving the girl free shit (the ripper doc) and having her take their new sport´s car for a ride (Frankie, her partner-in-crime)
Nipples on the first client earn that NSFW!

None of that shit with all them leaders being gender studies professors!

(except for the bad guy who is a 30's white male)

Oh yea, this game looks good.

Also, for authenticity and suspension of disbelief it's a lot easier to believe that a chick with bionic augmentations can pummel big dudes 'bare handed'. Just sayin'.

Oh sure, it looks sexy as fuck. But will it have good GAME PLAY!?

I rue the lemming like flight of well-resourced studios to produce outrageously beautiful interactive cinematic extravaganzas with less game play depth, variability, subtlety, freshness, challenge or re-playability than your typical late 1990s turn-based isometric game.

Take GTA5 for example: mostly all Hollywood set, hundreds of thousands of buildings, but all facades with no entrance, no interiors, no associated characters, no actual living world. 99% of all NPCs are one of a handful of instances of mindless simple algorithms. Even the traffic is fairly homogeneous and predictable.

Meanwhile, the characterization, narrative, voice-acting, and storylines associated with the main player characters and their campaign arcs are quite nice overall, but also highly railroaded. Far too many missions where you have to get your bullet/car/punch/dialogue option to land within a quite narrow tolerance to avoid "Mission Failed."

It is my understanding that Red Dead Redemption 2 and the Witcher are much the same in this regard. As such, I have no interest in purchasing or playing either . . . well, I do have SOME interest. If I were given a free copy I'd take 'em, but not gonna pay for them at this stage, when I'd probably play 20 or 30 hours and become disgusted with bumping into the boundaries of the movie set . . .

Reckon I'll stick to the same mindset for this one, though it did receive some earlier adverts claiming a true "living world" design, and the fact they have contained it to one "city" suggests it might almost be possible even with the extraordinary level of detail and fidelity in their visuals. I'll let you guys be the pioneers and let me know what it really is like!
