Had it in my left hand years ago. Ulnar neuropathy.
Doc said I was, by far, the youngest person he'd ever seen with it at 35.
Would wake up in the morning, and part of my hand would be pins and needles for a bit, but it would go away after awhile. Then one day it just never went away. I was in the middle of working and preparing to move so I didn't end up doing anything about it for a couple months. Damn hand had practically shriveled up and atrophied at that point since I could barely use the bottom half of my left hand.
They cut open my elbow, pulled the nerve out, and stuffed it up under the muscle on the inside of my arm (ulnar nerve translocation). Doc said I should have a full recovery after awhile, but it never quite fully recovered. Pinky and ring finger still somewhat retarded and slow. Luckily playing guitar isn't one of my hobbies because it would've ruined that. Had to retrain myself to type without using my left pinky after awhile.
I just hope my right hand doesn't go the same direction.
