It rocks.

All I've done is leave the vault, found dog, killed 3 raiders & assorted creatures, found power core & armor, built up my home base, reached level 2.

So satisfying.

Steam is filled full of reviewers saying its a buggy, crappy console port.

Makes me wary, when it costs as many beans as it does.

It IS a bit buggy, with yet another shitty Console-To-PC port job.

I haven't had any big issues with it during the couple hours I put in thus far. Other than the motherfuckers not doing a goddamn thing to improve the PC version of their game... yet again! Hell.. I think it takes even more INI edits to fix bullshit such as:

Low FOV.
Mouse Y-axis moves slower than the X-axis. So looking up/down with mouse is much slower than side-to-side.
Framerates restricted to 30FPS instead of 60.
Mouse "Smoothing" (aka Sluggishness) On by default.
Etc.

There are more but I gave up spending so much goddamn time editing multiple files to give it proper PC controls. Something the developers should've started doing four fucking games ago. It's not like their PC customers haven't been complaining about it for many years.

Is it enjoyable? Yes. Looks to be a fun open world to explore. But it still pisses me off to no end that the dickholes at Bethesda keep expecting their PC customers to go spend time manually modding their shit straight out of the box for better optimization. And some fixes cause other issues, such as unlocking the fps limits.

Yeah. I'll wait until the modders fix the UI like Skyrim and Bethesda works out the kinks.

I read those reviews and almost didn't buy it.

Then I remembered Steam's new return policy and bought it.

Played about 2 hours and so far its worked perfectly.

Good point, forgot about that. :D

Think I'll still wait for a sale though. Skyrim with the default UI was awful, Skyrim after a few mods were in was one of the most enjoyable games I've ever played. I'm sure Fallout will get there, but I'm happy to wait for sales and mods.

Pretty much the same situation here.

You can get a good experience out of Fallout 4 on PC. If you spend all the extra time looking up text edit fixes for all the stuff the developers couldn't be bothered to fully implement themselves.

Also.. I'm told that bee-lining down the main quest line isn't all that wonderful or long. Being an open world, it's best to take your time and wander around discovering things & dicking around. Hope you're of the 'Explorer' type.

Just released it's being beta tested now  I like the Fallout series I'll buy when they're done building it.
