I decided to stick with Civ 5 when that cartoonish money grab came out.

I don't even play Civ enough to justify more anyway.

Haven't even looked at Civ6, might pick it up when it's finally 'complete'. Did that with Civ5 and find it's a fun mess around game. Ain't playing it seriously, just messing around ... sort of a war game lite ... very lite.

When Civ6 is complete I'll be in my grave.

When I get in a Civ Simpleton mood, I tend towards some of the fantasy 4X games like Age Of Wonders 3 (or 2 even) and Warlock 1 & 2. I tend to play my campaigns longer with those. Probably due to having more unit & ability variety and more interesting things to find while exploring the fog of war, being fantasy.

I started a game in Civilization 5 with maximum map size, maximum number of players possible, maximum number of city-states allowed, and the longest time possible. It took 6+ months of playing on and off and 2,144 turns to conquer the world. Here is the overview of what happened.

Music is from the game Rise of Nations.

Total domination is the goal. But seems like blitz game in comparison with mdiehl's Stalingrad affair that started 16 months ago.

But some like it slow.
