The Zao, Moskva and DM actually beat out the Des Moines in DPM from what I have read in the forums. There are calls for buffing it some all the time to better compete. Mainly for armor rework etc.

I have had a lot of fun in the Baltimore though.

The US Cruisers just got a small (and probably very underwhelming) buff a couple patches ago.

Doesn't surprise me they're still behind the curve. Fuckin' Wargaming.net devs.

Potato hunting has been good the last few days. The Shima and Gearing have been out in force after 6.3 release due to the serious camping going on. Now that BB drivers have realized 90% of the DD's try not to use their guns and stay stealthy throwing torps down range.

Been seeing a bunch of 2-3 ship div of either Shima or Gearing causing all sorts of agony on the BB drivers. Of course letting a BB have radar, and a entire high tier line have sonar does make the high tier games difficult at times to score torp hits.

I been driving my Baltimore a bunch lately. But Z52 has seen a bunch of action too. Hunting DD's is fun. Khab, well, not much challenge there, typical Russian, engage speed boost and hold trigger down at close to max range and just burn folks to the ground.

Not playing as much as you, but my experiences the last 25 .battles since the "update of horrors" has not been much different from before the update.... with the exception that my Bismarck is on a 9 game win streak. Can't speak for Tier X games as I am staying away from the 9s and 10s til all the bitching is done, but the only significant difference is fewer kills, but average damage and citidel hits have increased to 65 - 75 k and 3-5 respectively per battle. On the fun side, had a Tier 8 DD guy swearing a blue streak on chat...he decided to smoke and do whatever is in vogue these days; I hit the sonar, changed to HE as his torps split around me, then broadsided a stationary target with main and secondaries. He was all pissed off that his "smoke isn't f'ing working"....lol. The more things change the more they stay the same.

Only on a couple hours if lucky, 3-4 games per night. Took today off though.

Oh, I see it in high tier, but then that is 90% of my game play is 8 and above. Run tier 8, might as well go 9-10 so I am not bottom rung. Gonna get dragged up anyway.

Des Moines is mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally the US cruiser grind is complete. Damn it was painful. I did enjoy the Baltimore though. But first outing in Des Moines.........OH MY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Impression, she reloads in 4.8 seconds, her AP will slaughter anyone that gets too close. Her AA is good, I got 12 planes that strayed too close and never hit my AA boost. I have her currently in a stealth configuration so detection is 10.6km by sea and 7.8 by air.

Her turret rotation is BB speed at 30.4 seconds, as I took the reload upgrade in my 3rd slot. I am using 2 of the rudder shift so her rudder is pretty responsive at 6.9 seconds to full hard over. I am going to stay stealth config for a few more matches before I try a full on rudder build like my Hindenburg.

Some pics of my very first outing in her.

So I have now completed US cruisers, German cruisers, US DD's, Russian DD's (original line), German DD's.

I am at tier 9 on US BB's, Japanese DD's, British cruisers, Russian DD (new line).

I am at tier 8 on Russian cruisers, Japanese cruisers, German BB's.

For seal clubbing, I have Kamikaze at tier 5 and my Nurnberg at tier 6.

Not sure about the French stuff yet. We will see. I got 23 empty commander slots, and 21 empty port slots with 28 ships currently. 21.3 million cash on hand.

I should know better. So I post about a winning streak. After a night out with the wife, sat down to play a game or two. Which became "just one more" as my teams were literally getting thrashed. 2 wins/13 losses...it was a might depressing. Think it may be time to take a break. :(

Couple more games in my Des Moines. Both losses so far but I pulled my weight and dished out the pain with both over 100,000 in damage. First loss, friendly smoke ran out and I got clobbered in a citadel which ripped 1/2 my health off.

Second battle, I was zigging and zagging all over the place dodging as much incoming as I could while shooting non stop. I was throwing napalm all over the place.
