I haven't done multiplayer here yet. My brother has the game, I think so we'll probably eventually give it a shot. We used to play IL-2 co-op quite a bit.

Probably only A-10 and SU-25 have any chance of being useful against ground targets. Everything else, at best, just drops dumb bombs.

I know the Mirage can haul laser-guided bombs, among other things. Pretty sure the F-5 can too. Both need a JTAC to lase, though. They're also rather small & light aircraft so they don't carry a large load.

I think the F-18C is supposed to be the next big release. She'll be able to do it all. Glad we're starting to get proper Multi-Role 5th/6th Generation aircraft. 8-)

FC3 features the F-15C, A-10A, Su-27, Su-33, MiG-29A, MiG-29S, Su-25T, and Su-25

The F-15, Su-27, and some of the MiG-29 have had more recent updates. It's a good package. Plus, the saved keybinds are largely interchangeable between all those aircraft, with some small adjustments. 8-)

You don't need to own LOMAC anymore, either. It recently passed the 10 year mark of that oldie, so I guess whatever terms they had with Ubisoft must've ended then. ;)

That's nice nowadays. Fortunately, I have that old game, which got me through the previous FCs.

I'm tempted to try to get the MiG 21 up again. Of all the "serious" sims, The F-86 is probably the easiest to get into. The F-5 probably comes next, though I don't know how to arm the AIM-9s yet.

Would Combined Arms work on the Open Conflict Server?

The Mirage 2000C has been pretty easy to learn. The cockpit is relatively simple. Although it doesn't carry a huge, or wide variety, of weapons. Same can be said for the F-5 though; even more so.

I don't think that server is set up for it. Could be wrong, as I've not even tried the CA module yet, despite owning it for quite awhile.

On some, you may notice a player slot, in the same list where you pick the aircraft you want to fly. But the ones I've seen were for someone to run AWACS/GCI manually, or for some kind of observer or JTAC vehicle (for buddy lasing I suppose).

I'm not sure if many servers let players jump into SAM and AAA vehicles since I've never done it. *shrug*

I finally figured out how to shoot shit from the MiG-21. I always use the MiG-25 as a victim to practice on. I'm having fun with it now.

I haven't worked to radar guided missiles yet. The old beam rider AA-1 looks interesting.

I'd like to get the MiG-21 eventually. Along with the F-5E.

Just waiting for more of the 3rd & early 4th Gen aircraft to be added. When we would start seeing more missions/servers doing 70s & early 80s situations. 8-) Right now, I just see the "MiG-21 vs F-5" kind of stuff, which is rather limiting. Although I think the M2000C fits in with these more than the newer ones since it's missile range is shit, and it's radar missile is generally crap. Basically the old early 80s un-upgraded export version. More agile than the others, though.

Also...

Scuttlebutt says the F-18 is supposed to be released in a couple weeks™.

The 21 is pretty fun. I've mostly figured it out. I haven't figured out the radar missiles yet, to my frustration. I can launch heaters just fine.
