how abt Christopher Walken's segment describing how he hid the wristwatch in his colon...always thought this was just filler, like the whole Harvey Keitel cleaner segment. Quarantino needed to add footage and time to his movie.

Totally forgot about the Walken segment. That was funnier than hell. Only Walken could pull that off.

The finest monologue ever. 8-)

When i kept hearing talk of the "bear" jew my mind went in a totaly different direction when i first heard of this movie.

It looks like a fun,no thought required,Dirty Dozen rip off.

I'm seeing it monday. If it even has only half the plot of Kill Bill it will be worth the $10.

All the reviews I've seen for it says it magnificent and this is from people that don't like QT. Be warned the Basterds is only a small part of the movie.

Hope to see this.

Nothing Inglorious About Pro-American ‘Basterds’
by Pam Meister

Remember the children’s magazine, Highlights? Its motto is “fun with a purpose.” The motto for Quentin Tarantino’s latest flick, “Inglourious Basterds,” should be “violent with a purpose.”

It’s 1944 in Nazi-occupied France. Joseph Goebbels’ (Sylvester Groth) latest film triumph starring Germany’s latest hero, Fredrick Zoller (Daniel Brühl), is set to premiere for the top brass of the Third Reich - including the big cheese himself, Adolf Hitler - and their guests. Funnily enough, the premiere is to be held in a cinema owned by Shoshanna Dreyfus (Mélanie Laurent), a Jewish refugee with her own obvious reasons for hating the Nazis. Naturally, she plans her revenge for the fateful night.

Meanwhile the Basterds, a crack group of Jewish-American soldiers under the leadership of Lt. Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt), is undercover in France and “in the business of killing Nazis, and business is booming.” Those Nazis who manage to escape death are given meaningful souvenirs of their time with the Basterds. The paths of these two groups cross in a way that only Tarantino, master of gory coincidence, could imagine.

A good ol’ boy and Jews brutally mowing down Nazis. What’s not to like? It’s probably one of the few times you’ll see a redneck positively portrayed in Hollywood.

This movie rocks in every way.

The basement scene is definately top QT....long, suspenseful and very smartly done.

Also I liked the scene with the Bear Jew and the German Sergeant....interesting to see nobility and honor being completely wasted on a hate filled thug....more interesting to see the traditional roles reversed and have it be so believable and not PC-ish.

The Austrian actor (forget his name off the top of my head) was top rate.

I didn't particularly like Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction, but this movie was absolutely brilliant. One of my all-time favorites I think. Simply brilliant dialog at times.

Definitely true of the Bear Jew.

"What did you get that for? Killing Jews?"
"Bravery."

The guy who played Hugo Stiglitz is one of the top German actors apparently.

I liked the British guy, he was only in it for 20 minutes, but he just rocked.

The cinema was laughing their collective ass off with every line he uttered, too. He was like a Dan Dare caricature.
