Even the bad guy, and he IS nasty, is portrayed somewhat sympathetically (victim of French racism) :lol:

Yup, I noticed some of the same things.

While Tom Clancy created some of the original characters in this tv series, he did not create these plots. This tv series is not adapted from any of his books, so the the director, screenwriters have quite a bit of artistic license to do what they want. Also, Tom Clancy is dead so he can't 'frown' or object to what they are doing to his characters. The rights to use the characters were sold by his family estate and they may (or quite likely may) not care about that.

I just noticed on Wikipedia that in April Amazon greenlighted a 2nd season.

I watched this. I was confused that the arab terrorist guy was portrayed as the bad guy. I'm not sure how to reconcile his attempts at murdering thousands of innocents as somehow bad.
