Haven't seen it myself, but 4chan's /tv/ board was sperging over it while it was running. I have learnt that if enough of a collective is saying something is good, it probably is. ;)

I could not watch the review, it has that shitty. So I can not comment the message in it.

I was not initially impressed about the Young Pope so much, I found it odd. But then I realized that it was directed by Paolo Sorrentino, who has also done La grande bellezza (The Great Beauty). And read and listened comments about the series.

And heck, I am totally hooked on the Young Pope. Now watching episode 9/10 of the first and last season.

It is so beautiful, so odd, something that can not described.

But I am not sure to recommend it to you, I guess an idea of a Pope who has lost his faith in g-d would be something that you would not like. And more...

But if you start, watch at least first four episodes before you quit. By then you should be hooked. ;)

Magna Cacca.

Yes, but it was one of two video reviews of the complete series.

All in all I'd say your review is good.

I've only see the final 2 episodes and have read they are the best.

PS

Your telling me I was mistaken thinking it was a liberal anti religion fest enticed me to watch.

I am happy that you liked it. ;)

I you should watch all the episodes so that we can discuss about Venus of Willendorf and Magna Cacca.

...

So you have seen the two last episodes. The thing is that Sorrentino directs movies, so you have seen the last 20% of a long movie. But if it makes you want to see the whole thing, good. ;)

The first seven episodes are mostly in Rome and Vatican. The sceneries are just so beautiful, you know if you ever have been there. The Vatican scenes are like in an art gallery, and there is a lot of art.

Too bad that Bishop Barron had not commented on this. :(

I just watched the last episode. This is the end.

Well, it was my second time the watch the series. The first time I was a false start for me, the pope was so obnoxious such. But then people who I trust anyway recommended me and winked the details to watch. And oh boy, I was wrong, I just didn't get Sorrentino's ideas. So beautiful, so full of stuff.

And now HBO is making a sequel, without Sorrentino, John Malkovich as the now Pope. But this is something completely different. Not seen it, can not judge it.

Alle lujaa (battle cry of the salvation army girls in Finland).
