Amazon Prime...Russian with subtitles

Fictionalized story of the mission to rescue Salyut 7 space station. Well directed. Very well acted. Fantastic sets and Hollywood level special effects and beautiful space scenes. Lots of white knuckle stuff.

Heavy on the propaganda at times and includes what must be a conspiratorial idea that the US was trying to steal the whole station in the Shuttle. Even so...really, really good.

Maybe Americans were trying to get their hands on their 60's era analogue computers that were reverse engineered from 50's era American ones and things like graphite pencils so the Americans could reverse engineer these for their own use, considering how technologically backward Americans are.

Hilariously, that is EXACTLY the reason cited in the movie.

The viewer is supposed to accept the Americans launched an empty shuttle to take the entire Salyut 7, rocket fuel and all, and stick it the shuttle bay, strap it down and land on the runway with a 20 ton space station the size of the Shuttle itself

Despite this silliness, the spacewalks and interior sets are fantastic. .
