I either don't know what you're asking or you live on some other planet.

Each episode of Season 2 Dark Matter was available minutes after it aired. Got it a la carte on Amazon.

Are you trying to get Expanse for free?

If not, you can buy Season 2 today. Right now. Even as you read this. You could be able to stream it within seconds of reading this reply. You don't need cable or a satellite dish. You don't need to subscribe to SyFy. All you need is an internet connection.

Answered your own question.

I got the impression he was asking if he could get it piggybacked with a Netflix sub, or similar. Which is much more efficient on the wallet than buying a digital season and watching it once.

The digital version of the 2nd season of Dark Matter was for sale on Amazon shortly after the season was over. But it didn't show up on Netflix until about 8 or 9 months later iirc.

Ah got it. Thanks.

A la carte is efficient for us because we don't watch enough TV to pay for a subscription service, so we wind up saving tons of money vs satellite, cable, netflx, etc. and we never have to endure advertising.

I understand.

Since I tend to only watch series once, and on very rare occasions twice, I'd rather just wait for them to hit Netflix, Prime, etc. Essentially renting a huge package of shows, movies, and documentaries for ~$14 a month.

After I've watched the stuff that's interested me I'll un-sub the service in question for awhile, switching to a different one with different content. Just cycling through a different service every month or two. Easy on the wallet, and I sometimes find good stuff which hadn't been on my radar along with a few that I planned on seeing once they landed there.

So is SyFy a cable channel?

Yes it is. Anyone with an approved TV provider can go to syfy.com, register, and watch the full episodes aired so far in season 2. No joy for cable cutters like me.

I'm considering trying the YouTube channel when it's released because of the DVR feature. The idea of having to watch shows at a specific time has become completely foreign. Live TV is just a waste of money for me.

You can get free trials for most of the options mentioned in the article above.

Not entirely accurate. If you're willing to pay, you can buy access to The Expanse a la carte from Amazon and watch each episode the day after it airs (or any time after that as much as you want) on SyFy.

Or from Vudu, iTunes, Google Play, Microsoft, Fandango, to name a few others that will sell you episodes. But cable cutters can't watch it on syfy.com. Must have a provider.

I got mine from Vudu.com thanks to the positive reviews in this thread. The first episode was free. It may still be for anyone looking to check it out before committing.
