Imagine that. The Bible and The Vikings replace endless re runs of Pawn Stars

So far, the God of Abraham is smiting commies and the Vikings have come up with a stone age GPS system they want to test out by sailing west from Scandinavia. Not exactly clear on which part of Scandinavia they're coming from. None of them look like Uncle Fester so it probably aint Finland.

Sunstone alleged secret Viking tech.

I watched half of the first episode of Vikings. A little lukewarm but I'll probably watch the rest of it. At least it is "history-ish". Personally I'd be much more interested if it were about Viking raids on Europe instead of the obvious "western exploration" that the story seems to be headed.

Yeah, burning and plundering Yurope does sound like a lot of fun, but I think "the west" refers to the British Isles.

Remember this? When I was about nine years old and saw the Kirk Douglas movie "The Vikings" I had to have this model. After begging my parents for days, the lady that lived across the street, who had no children of her own, took pity of me and came over one day and gave me the model as a gift. I think my parents didn't give in to my begging because they knew the lady across the street wanted to buy it for me. I didn't care who gave it to me, I just wanted the model. It was one of Aurora's better kits. Like most of my childhood stuff it disappeared into the mists of time. But it sure was a cool model.

No one has ridden the "mare of steel" yet.

I remember sending off for my wolfpack submarine. It was two inches long and powered by baking soda poured into a little glass base. Kind of like my rocket radio powered by a clip on the finger stop on the telephone.

I finished watching the first episode. It does appear that the "western" exploration will be the British Isles and Northern Europe.

I only have one question: Did Viking women shave their legs?

So Samson was a black man brought down by white women and the devil looks just like Beelzebub Hussein Obama. Who's to say it aint true?

You heathens should be watching The Bible just for it's historical context. it is the oral history of the Juice, written down about a thousand years or so after Christ. lots of wiggle room in there about actual facts and mythology.

As for the Vikings, they were pricks. they didn't seem to have any problem butchering people for shits and giggles.

who cares.....they were probably the horniest white women there ever were. The bits and pieces that emerge from Dark Age Scandinavian history seem to reveal it was a constant drunken fuckfest.....if you were a male traveler from continental Yurope during the time, the women up there would rape you, so to speak. the horror 8-)

Yeah. Pretty much murderous pirates. But there were quite a few of those across Europe, in the Middle Ages.

I was a bit surprised they wanted to make a cable series on Vikings. I expected some Hollywood white-washing to take place and, of course, they try to inject the main character with somewhat of a modern conscience.

Still.. I've been watching the damn thing every week. What else is there to watch on cable? Shit! That's what.
