The Dead have returned again. Does anyone care?

Brave homosexuals, lesbians, feminists, and minorities battling an endless parade of homophobic southern racists. Followed by an hour of pretentiousness and self congratulatory gossip.

Can't say I was impressed with Rick's tactical acumen from Sunday's show. Big elaborate plan to draw all the zombies to Negan's fortress. Therefore Negan comes out on a nice open platform and talks about who's dick is bigger when anybody with a deer rifle and a scope could have ventilated his brain pan from any of the buildings about what, 50 to 80 yards away. Hollywood way overthinks things sometimes.

And now a Muslim has joined in the struggle against Trumpf/Negan and the racist rednecks.

I still shake my head at the lack of any kind of tactical sense amongst these people. Didn't they have one surviving Army/Marine veteran? Hasn't any of them played a wargame or read a military history or military biography. I've not served but I'm pretty sure I would have had enough sense to say "hey, maybe we shouldn't all bunch up here until we've cleared those buildings right there just in case someone has a machine gun there"! They all walk along together like they are going to need to form a line with their muskets to try and win the day instead of spreading out a bit to avoid all being taken down by automatic fire.

Rick's latest stroke of strategic brilliance. Walks alone into the camp of the autistic scrap-yard dwellers and confronts the woman who has already betrayed him and shot him.

"Join with us or my people will destroy you!"

"No."

Locks him up naked in a shipping container. Bravo Rick, bravo.

50 caliber machine gun versus jeep; jeep takes minor damage in radiator. Corrugated tin applied to pick up trucks stops automatic 7.62mm rifle fire. Racist spraying Daryl with .50 caliber machine gun fire is stopped by a single offhand shot from Daryl's revolver.

The cgi effects have been going downhill for awhile.

Its a deer. They are everywhere, just go to your local petting zoo and get a real one. Fuck sakes.

You're all missing the big picture.

For example Finnish army trains to fight against superior numbers of fully trained and heavily equipped men supported by all imaginable combined arms in massive deployments.

Zombies on the other hand mainly try to bite at you, cannot go prone, walk slowly, bunch up and cannot open doors or cross shallow ditches. Yet no one had the bright idea of _ever_ using artillery against them, despite there being enough artillery and munitions around to literally wage WW III with.

No one can even figure out to grab a bulldozer for that matter.

But getting to actual tactics, sure - you have huge unpopulated areas mixed with dense foliage, all sorts of terrain and levels of development from heavy urban to extremely broken terrain and open spaces.

Every last advantage here is on the people you're trying to hunt. And what do most tactics amount to? Driving around along roads in civilian cars.

Rick and his buddies, they have this fortified position yet their enemies simply drive onto their front door in cramped up civilian vehicles and Rick's crew is completely unable to utilize a single military tactic developed over the last 4,000 years.

It's like the show was written by some commie who thinks that "the power of the people" and "human wave" are the peak of military evolution - that if you simply took a bunch of people and goofball them big enough then nothing can stop them.

And this goofball single wave approach is what the "hardened survivors" always amount to. Approach the enemy in goofball formation, walk up to punching distance and fire from hip while walking at the enemy.

And as always, if there's any band of cannibals, raiders or "bad people" they're 100% white. All of the heavily armed ghetto gangs just vanished overnight to the same place where all the Cavalry Brigades went with all their equipment.

The writers and producers of the show are veritable military geniuses. This was proven with the "the most lethal weapon ever - the Ma Deuce!" which with a single burst kills 50 people scattered across a courtyard but with which you can't take out an unarmored old jeep from 50 feet distance driving behind you - and can't hit a motorcycle for that matter.

Just sayin'

And a note on police tactics:
A dangerous insane murderer takes a hostage, tells all the police to drop their weapons "or the hostage gets it".
Standard procedure is of course that all the police throw their weapons at the murderer's feet and back away, handcuffing themselves to railings. Because this way the insane murderer will save the hostage, right? Because by removing the threat of reprisal is the best way to save the most lives, according to Hollywood. "The right thing to do".

Military tactics kill.
