The legislation designed to stop lead in toys was one of the stupidest pieces of legislation ever written. My friend is a librarian. He said under the original bill the public library would be required to have every new book sent to a laboratory for lead testing. I think the date when the bill would become effective was postponed... I don't know what happened to it.

Go carts and motorcycles use lead, I'm not aware that a single kid has ever got lead poisoning from them, but they're out.

Typical humanity. Those with power either don't care and make crappy decisions, or they care but don't understand and are fooled by others.

Kids typically don't put go-carts and motorcycles in their mouths.

Some things have been banned because people (adults) shoved them in their eyes. There was recently such an occasion, but again I refuse to check out the details.

They also shouldn't be swallowing batteries or eating toys. Does that mean you're going to ban both Comrade Commissar?

No. Just toxins in kids toys.

I've been saying for years it is a powder-keg house-of-cards. No surprise to me.
