Worried about you? No. Worried whether you agree? Again, no. I do have enough sense of community that talking about it in a public forum where people other than yourself are reading it seems reasonable. If this were just a conversation between you and me, I wouldn't waste my breath.

Worried about the likely effects of warming caused by CO2 forcing caused in turn by fossil fuel combustion? Yes. Any scientist would be. Doesn't make them less of a scientist. Many Manhattan Project scientists were worried about having a nuke dropped on their head as a possible downriver consequence of helping develop atomic bombs. That concern does not invalidate their science.

Bottom line is always the bottom line.

Global warming is happening.
There is no credible doubt that CO2 forcing is causing it.
There is no credible doubt that human fossil fuel combustion is the source of the CO2 forcing.
No magic unicorns or acts of god or other forces have been detected that can account for the warming.

The only ambiguity is in the specific regional effects forecasts. As with all highly complex forecasts, YMMV. But there's no reasonable doubt about the general effects. There's also no reasonable doubt that interior Asia, the interior Indian subcontinent, and interior Africa will be worst hit by famines.

*Reasonable* doubt is the key. Special imaginary friends whom you expect to clean up for you probably aren't going to be there. Imaginary "undiscovered sources" causing the problem aren't going to suddenly go away and fix the problem.

Simple as that really.

“Our error margins are too big now to really weigh in on the precise amount of warming that’s going on in the ocean,” Keeling said. “We really muffed the error margins.”

A correction has been submitted to the journal Nature.

Standard.

Not exactly so.

Resplandy et al. correction and response

Bottom Line

We recomputed the ΔAPOClimate trend and its uncertainty based on the distribution of the unweighted least square fits to each of the 106 ensemble realizations of ΔAPOClimate generated by combining all sources of uncertainty, with correlated errors now treated as systematic contributions to the trend. The resulting trend in ΔAPOClimate is 1.05 ± 0.62 per meg/yr (previously 1.16 ± 0.18 per meg/yr) which yields a ΔOHC trend of 1.21 ± 0.72 x 1022 J/yr (previously 1.33 ± 0.20 x 1022 J/yr)
...

But the embarrassing error in the calculation does not invalidate the message: oceans are warming up.

So it goes.

The revised uncertainties preclude drawing any strong conclusions with respect to climate sensitivity or carbon budgets based on the APO method alone . . .

I can cherry pick with the best of them fucktard.

Science is not about the "last word" moron. Its about the ongoing progression of understanding. THAT is the central problem with you fucking imbecilic climate zealots: you want THE ANSWER and think you have THE ANSWER. There is no such fucking thing.
