Why Buford and Reynolds, and not all the others that held the line following Buford's decision to make a spoiling defense forcing the Rebs to slow their advance giving the Union time to set up their defenses. Without Buford there wouldn't have been a Gettysburg.

Bufords cavalry is quite noticeable in that at the opening stages. ;)
Yes, just tripped over this

Guy gives a good narration.

Great graphics. Seems a bit hyerkinetic. Is that thing set on "double-espresso" or something?

Buford did not force the battle, Reynolds did, he engaged his corps for the battle and forced Meade to employ the other corps.Meade did have other plans.

Lee's plan was to meet and destroy Meade's army. The first day went to the rebels, they were closer. The second day Lee tried envelopment from the South and later from the North. Both failed.

The third day, the Pickets attack was just fools errand, Lee's frustration.

I still think that Pop Greene is the unsung hero of the battle.

So it goes.

Since Gettysburg is the game, how about Talonsoft's BattleGround Gettysburg 1995:

You can download it and other Battlefront games here https://archive.org/search.php?query=cr ... lonSoft%22

The game is 16 bit Win3x and Win95 so you'll need to use a DosBox DosWin setup if your stuck with a 64bit system. I've got it running on a Win 7 Ultimate 32 bit setup on an old laptop.

Another good site is http://www.acwgc.org/acwco/patches.asp

You'd be better off grabbing the new JTS Campaign Gettysburg where you can refight the historical battles but also 200 some variants or "what if" scenarios plus play a campaign where you can make strategic choices and winning/losing leads to other choices and your losses will carry over.

I like the Talonsoft Gettysberg because it has "Commander Control' viewtopic.php?f=9&t=10935&hilit=commander+control
Plus it's free :D
