Theism isn't edgy or amazing, it's dying out worldwide.

Atheism is not dying out. In Western countries the proportion of atheists is actually increasing. But the population explosion in black, south sahara Africa is reducing the proportion of atheism on the global level.

I've seen that sentiment expressed by various European clergy.

Less so now after a few throat slittings, but the Church of England still seems to think that way even now.

Atheists are morally superior to Abrahamic cultists, statistically speaking. Atheists have the lowest crime rates across the board and tend to be much more independent, anti-authoritarian in a live and let-live sense, and freedom-appreciative. Neopagans are the second least likely to commit crimes for much the same reasons.
