Today, perhaps more than ever, Washington, D.C. is our Achilles Heel and woo be unto the U.S. were it to get burnt down . . .

In this day and age, if an enemy nuked Washington, and every politician and bureaucrat associated with the district was vaporized in it, the American people would be so overcome with joy that they'd be too busy partying in the streets and the U.S. would be easy pickings.

Some might also be confused that they're on the same side with the attacker.

Some interesting stuff that's seldom covered.

Great video, many of the same points as in the Susanna Viljanen's writing on the other military topic I posted earlier.

I share those points too - having done kendo myself I have zero respect for Japanese martial ethos, philosophy and traditions.

They train to die in battle. They hate defending themselves, they train to attack the other guy in a way that you kill him 0.05 seconds before he kills you - but he will kill you. This is the flaw in their systems. Other flaws include their idiocy. No matter how stupid something is, it is impossible to criticize it due to their reverent love for authority and tradition. If it's done now and advocated by someone above you - it is unthinkable to criticize anything even if you can see it doesn't make any sense. If it's a tradition then it's more easier to convince them to kill their own children than to go against the tradition.

You can see it today if you go and watch their fencing masters explain the concepts. We were just laughing at how one of them was on a video explaining some concept saying:
"you would think that this is good - but it's not. When you think about it this (other thing) is much better."
No explanation. It just is because the man says so. And god forbid if you ever criticized him for the Japanese have a saying

"The nail that sticks out gets hammered down"

You don't shine too much and you don't drag up too much. You try to fit in the middle and be invisible. Any special attention is negative. Masters have a desire to punish anyone that catches their attention, there's always something wrong.

And finally, the Japanese pedagogy - or the lack of it.

Go to a kendo club and the standard is that they will avoid memorizing your name until you're 2 dan. And oh, if you ever do anything wrong, make certain that they won't tell you. "You'll figure it out on your own when you're 4 dan". Though when you try to, they won't tell you what you're doing wrong if you fail a test. "Figure it out". And then some punishment and insults, god forbid if a fencing instructor would actually help his students progress!

What Susanna said, Japanese are great at fighting, at least until the enemy fails to go by their rules of Kenjutsu.

Go look at top level kendo fights. The two 7 dan masters slice each others heads off. Then the judges say that one of them one - despite having lost his head just the same. This they call "purest form of fencing".

Well, I will watch the video in good time.

But why Japan lost is so self-evident, there was just only one conclusion from the beginning.

1) The resources, industrial potential, man power, access to raw materials...
2) The method of war, scientific vs. bushido way.

But I will watch the video to find out what are those seldom mentioned factoids. ;)

So it goes.

Imagine your one of those Japs, your army had slaughtered POWs through out the war, what do you think is going to happen ...

The Emperor has order you to surrender, so you must.

It was one of their fascist credos: "You are despicable, you surrendered to save your lives. We would never."

Little later they found themselves doing just that - surrendering.

Watched an interview of a Japanese person on his thoughts at the end of war - he was expecting Japanese to be enslaved and ravaged by US the way they had done to everyone else. Instead they got chocolate and jobs.

Japan was completely defeated in 1945, look at it then and now: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... ttack.html

What is it's strength, the people are united, that's why they don't want outsiders deciding policy.

It's 100% OK for Japan to not want too much immigration and to even insist that kids who don't have black hair dye it black - gotta conform to those racial stereotypes.

Meanwhile in the West our local commies despise merely the act of honoring the flag... While insisting that the way forward lies with Islam becoming a major religion here.
