I wondered same.

But not sure if he ever voiced that sentiment before disappearing.

Well he did say he was going to go walkabout but didn't say how long he would be...

viewtopic.php?f=7&t=19020

Hopefully he is ok and nothing untoward has happened to him.

Hopefully having an enjoyable vacation, then. 8-)

Somehow I think he'd message us, from the grave, if he managed random deathbed stranger-sex. Aneurysm or stroke on an alpine hookup would qualify as sewing circle worthy. Plz no details on Grandcougars though. :?

:P

Well, we do know that Nero has almost no hair and isn't Asian, so this is not him:

85-year-old man dies on Everest while attempting to break oldest-climber record

By Marissa Payne May 6 at 6:21 PM

Eighty-five-year-old mountaineer Min Bahadur Sherchan, who previously held the title for world’s oldest climber to top Mount Everest, died Saturday while attempting to reclaim the record, the Associated Press reports.

“He passed away at the base camp today at 5:14 p.m.,” Gyanendra Shrestha, an official with the tourism ministry, told Agence France-Presse (via Deutsche Welle) on Saturday.

Shrestha, who is stationed at the camp that sits at an elevation of 17,600 feet, said the cause of Sherchan’s death wasn’t immediately clear, although a heart attack is suspected.

Well, that's cool !!! But trying to keep heart rate under 110 might be tough ... maybe 1 step every 5 minutes? :D But then one might tip over holding your foot in the air for so long ... ;)

I forgot to take one of ~20 something heart rate belts with me. Anyway having more than 1200 meters vertical with a too heavy backpack so low heart rate would have been impossible anyway.
