Impressive documentary skills ChiJohn! Thanks!

The song seems to be a favorite for Gen Z gamers to troll authority figures. Check out some of the comments:

To all Idiots here:
No, this is not a Song about murder. They're literally singing about a pretty girl called Erika they love.

I don't know why Youtube thinks this song is Nazi. The reasons against it are:
1. 'About 1930' indicates a pre-Hitler period.
2. The German Army still uses it (I think).
Youtube, if you can read this, stop taking these down.

I am German and I can totally understand why this song was so popular under Soldiers. It sounds nice, is easy to sing and just makes happy! :)

I bumped into the song on the Hoi4 Black Ice mod sound track and thought it sounded interesting so studied up a bit more. Apparently it was written in around 1930 and had no original association with Nazism, but later became a kind of semi-official anthem of the Heer if not the whole Wehrmacht.

Thanks for the compliment.

This song has been on several different WW 2-era Computer games that I have played over the years.

Anthro, Please do notice that I linked you to the English language Wikipedia pages, unlike Nero who posted a link to the Spanish language version. ;-)

How can I make such mistakes?

Perhaps it is because when I am "tired", all foreign languages are gibberish to me. ;)

Killer Tanks The Grant M3 Tank

I knew that the Lee/Grant tanks were used extensively in North Africa but I had not known that they were also used in Asia.

Yeah, didn't know the M3 had been that effective for the Brits.
