Am assuming this was a sling shot to toss grenades.

Was it a joke or of some value?

Not a joke, but the first version of the Angry Bird sling to be tested. You can see the tail of the bird to be soon shot in the backgound.

Hate and Fear.

The French had the same thing in the trenches during WW1. The precursor of mortars I guess.

At least in the "Joe Lexicon" most "Military Style" weapons are either sticks or stones or throwers of same ... with a few chemical weapons running around now and then ... for example a "rifle" could be classified as a stone thrower which uses chemicals (as opposed to torsion) to propel the stone.

So, yes, there were certainly torsion stone throwers in the ancient artillery ...

Back to reality, how well do rubber band slings work at -40°C?

It's not -40C in the picture.

It's like a "circle all the hints" suggesting that it's more like -10C or -20C at most.

Oletko ampunut ritsalla kahdenkympin pakkasella, en minäkään?

Obviously the Angry Bird Sling is a good weather weapon that works best over 0°C temperature.

Hakkaa Päälle.
