Jerry Nadler claims to have started the impeachment process, even though he does not have the authority to do so:

Any function of impeachment under Article 1 requires a majority vote in the House approving such measures. Without that fail safe, any committee could abuse the impeachment process and the court system by simply declaring they’ve started impeachment proceedings. It’s unconstitutional.

Nadler, however, doesn’t appear to have the authority to launch a formal impeachment inquiry regardless of the case he makes to the court, Republicans said.

That power rests with the House, which must approve a formal Judiciary Committee impeachment probe by simple majority.

Collins, a GOP aide told the Washington Examiner, “does dispute Nadler’s assertion that the committee is currently conducting “formal impeachment proceedings. The House rules do require a formal vote in order for the committee to begin conducting a formal impeachment inquiry.”

Well good luck with that! I'm sure that will convince the remaining ~27% of the American public who are on the fence to swing Democrat for 2020, "Orange Man Bad" and all that!

Morons just cannot help themselves it seems. Apparently they actually BELIEVE that appealing to the extreme pole on the spectrum is the way you win national level elections. Granted, it can work well for certain Congressional districts, or PERHAPS even at the state Senatorial level sometimes. But at the national level!? Is there a single example in American history where a candidate who made an overweening effort to alienate at least half if not 60%+ of the population actually won!?

What say you Nero, oh Scholarly gift to the Board with your exhaustive knowledge of American political history!?

And the Little Nadler that couldn't fails again:

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/judge- ... ment-probe

Basically more Democratic judge shopping shot down by a real judge:

Quote:
A D.C. federal judge on Wednesday shot down an attempt by House Judiciary Committee Democrats to link their subpoena for former White House counsel Don McGahn to a separate request for secret grand jury information from the Russia investigation after the Justice Department accused them of trying to "game the system."

Normally cases are assigned to judges randomly, which the DOJ said is meant to keep parties from “attempting to game the system” by “shopping” for a judge they like. But in a Tuesday court filing, the department alleged the Democrat-controlled committee was trying to do exactly that by exploiting an exception that allows “related” cases to be heard by the same judge. In this case, the DOJ said the panel improperly sought to connect the McGahn case to the grand jury case simply because they're both part of their investigation of President Trump.

The ONLY thing those two cases have in common is they are both fishing expeditions to harm Trump politically. I guess you could save on a fishing license and sea sick pills?

There is no need to harm Trump politically. He is doing it by himself much more efficiently than anyone else can, biggly.

Though he saved the Christmas.
