I don't know why, but I don't like these scenarios.

"
#1 - no nuclear weapons
"

And there goes the whole point, really. Why not "no infantry" or "no air forces" or "no naval combat"?

Case 1.

See a fleet of enemy vessels approaching - hit them with 30 nuclear SRBMs. Hit an enemy fleet with nukes from a sub etc.

It's just so silly. It's like "Can I win a sniper if the sniper cannot use a scope and we're in an elevator?"

IIRC, we used to think that if 'If we hit them with a nuke, they'll hit us with two nukes, then we'll hit them with 3 nukes and on and on ... sort of a MAD situation. Who wants to start it ?

No winner.

Besides this is just a face off with non nuclear force, IMO interesting.

The Air Forces are used through out, infantry? Why use them when you can defeat your opposition without 'em.

Rather like MacArthur's "Hit 'em where they ain't"

Is it realistic, no. Interesting, IMO, yes.

This is completely fanciful. I don't think we would be attacked by the UK or Australia or....umm.....or.....

No nuclear weapons huh? What fantastic scenario is this? The United States would blow everyone's fucking head off of their face.

What scenario wouldn't we unload? Who comes up w/ this shit?

That was possibly the least well researched "analysis" I've seen in ten years. It was insipid. Big lead time to a war predicated on the claim that world assumes the US needs to be eliminated but no one builds ships, modern a.c., or logistical capability?

As far as nukes.... invasion fleet heads to USA will result in nukes every time and good on the USA for using them in those circumstances.

Of course, the way to avoid being dragged into some global war is to NOT form alliances all over the planet with nations that lack the means or desire to defend themselves.

Well, it sort of happened in the 1400-1700 period ... and there were no nukes ... and the yourOhs won that time ... but a modern version would likely be different ... the "new natives" don't have such a technological gap with the invaders as the "olde natives" did.

We already won. American culture is EVERYWHERE (even now, deeply "infested" into "traditional" European societies! ), permeates even China and Russia, every nook and cranny of the world is smeared with it, if not chock full of it. :P You've got semi-literate herdsman in southern Sudan who would like to meet Kanye and wear Chicago Bulls T-shirts . . . you've got old grannies in remote Bangladesh who are great fans of Oprah . . . no matter where you go America is already there and has been for decades.

No point in fighting, war is already over ;)

There is a lot of truth in this.

Show a photo of a Jeep Wrangler without a Jeep logo or a Coke bottle without a Coke logo and 90% of the world will recognise what they are.

Also photos of the great movie stars will be recognised.
