When Social Democrats have nothing to say...

they say Russia.

Then they expect everyone to "hmmm, hey, GOOD POINT"

Instead they get the sound of crickets.

Nice Ladies Leaving the Democratic Party

By Karin McQuillan| August 17th, 2018

Quote:
Democrats are leaving their party more in sorrow than in anger, but leaving it they are, sickened by the Democratic Party’s hard left turn. Tens of thousands are telling their stories on the #walkaway movement’s public Facebook page. Their YouTube videos are a fascinating window into the innermost thoughts of kind, thoughtful people across America—all former Democrats.

My personal favorites are what I call “nice ladies driven away by Democrat hate.” During and after the election, many women stopped buying what the Dems are selling. They come from every generation, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, and region of America. These women warm my heart because I have been waiting and hoping that ordinary Democratic voters would be revolted by their party’s embrace of vitriol and violence. It appears to be happening at last. They are walking away from Democrat politicians, cultural and media icons. The treatment of Trump and his voters has been a step too far.

Bottom line: these nice, normal women don’t feel comfortable being members of a club full of haters.

The Democratic Party no longer fits their personalities, their values, or their self-image as loving, caring, tolerant human beings. The coup de grace is when they realize they are not free in their liberal social circles to utter one word of doubt or criticism of the party line. If they do, they find themselves attacked and ostracized. That is truly the end for them as Democrat voters.

A Quaker-educated social justice warrior from Washington state saw her children’s schools overwhelmed with immigrants, stressing kids, teachers, and the school budget to the breaking point. She realized “if I were to say that, I’d be a racist . . . It reminded me of Jews having to hide. People shouldn’t have to hide what they believe.”

My bold.

"Mini Maduro"

Ocasio-Cortez cites Acadia National Park as an example of Democratic Socialism.  If this were her high school history paper it would be generous to give her a "D"

I'm done with the democratic party mostly. Now I'm an Indie.

Democrats are mostly about the same old globalism, privilege, croneyism and elitism as the right wing. Except the dems have added this element of narcissistic ideological racism as though hating me and my children for being pale-skinned and male is entirely reasonable and appropriate.

I *do* like Elizabeth Warren though. Her proposal to ban Federal officials from becoming lobbyists won't go anywhere but it is a very good idea. I like Sanders' ideas about health care and the fact that he won't sell out to the "Abolish ICE" idiots.

Or just give me a strong social libertarian with a proper degree of skepticism for globalism.

My bold emphasis above.

I realize Mac already posted this video in another thread but reposting it here for the following question...

Unless her response was truncated in the video, Warren seems to dodge the issue of what should be done to protect American citizens from the crimes committed by illegal alien criminals like the monster that murdered the Iowa college student.

MDiehl, do you support Elizabeth Warren on this?

On dodging the question?

I do not support eliminating ICE nor do I support welcoming illegal immigrants. I am not sure if she's declared a position on those two things. Eliminating ICE would be a deal-breaker for me. "Welcoming" ... I'd need to see the details.

I do NOT support separating illegal immigrant children from their illegal immigrant parents. I do not support releasing illegal-immigrants-in-custody unless a court has determined that they are clearly eligible for refugee status; under no circumstances at this time would I agree that someone from Mexico is eligible for refugee status. Someone from Venezuela? Yes, I could see how someone fleeing from Venezuela would reasonably fear political persecution if repatriated. I do not support chain-migration.

When Warren was asked to comment on the issue of the illegal alien who murdered Mollie Tibbetts Warren deflected by immediately going to the separation of illegal immigrant children and parents.

That is what i meant by her 'dodging the question'.

Sen. Warren with regard to ICE:

Quote:
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) on Saturday joined calls from the left to get rid of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), saying it should be replaced with something new.

“The president's deeply immoral actions have made it obvious we need to rebuild our immigration system from top to bottom starting by replacing ICE with something that reflects our morality and that works,” Warren said during a rally in Boston.

http://thehill.com/homenews/senate/3949 ... eplace-ice

It would be nice if she expanded on "replacing ICE with something that reflects our morality "
That could mean a whole lot of things....anything from 'deterring those who commit crimes against US citizens' to the other end 'opening wide our borders to those less fortunate than we are'.

I tried to find something on her campaign website regarding the issue but the best that I could find was this:

Quote:
Immigration

America’s diversity is an essential part of who we are. It’s that diversity, fueled by generations of immigrants from across the globe, that makes us a stronger, more vibrant nation. My son-in-law and the father of my three grandchildren immigrated here as a young adult. His story and countless stories from millions of other families reach back for generations, creating our uniquely American story.

I have long supported common-sense, comprehensive immigration reform: reform that protects our borders, creates a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants who pay their taxes and go to the back of the line, and helps us retain talent trained at our world-class institutions.

But the immigration debate has taken an ugly turn since President Trump’s election. Today, we live in a country where, too often, the undocumented are wrongly scapegoated for crimes, immigrants are afraid to report things like sexual assault or ask law enforcement for help for fear that they’ll be deported, and families live in constant fear of being split up by deportation.

We need to put a stop to this. We need to pass the Dream Act, end the mass deportation of children and vulnerable families, and return to a real debate about immigration reform that is true to the rule of law, to our tradition as a nation of immigrants, and to our need to invest in the future.

My bold emphasis above
