The New McCarthyism is not about Communism...it's about LGBTQXYZ, abortion on demand, militant feminism and the eradication of the vile notion of self-reliance.

From the Morning Rant at Ace of Spades:
The Morning Rant

—OregonMuse

"OK, I'm going to say something that probably won't win me too many friends around here, but nevertheless, I think we need to give credit where credit is due. Namely, a word of thanks is in order to Yertle the Turtle Mitch McConnell. Why? Because he held the line after the death of Scalia. I honestly didn't think he would. Oh, I knew he'd go through the motions but eventually, when the Democratic Noise Machine got loud enough, he'd cave. I expected to turn on CNN any morning to hear that he capitulated and voted to confirm Garland. But he DIDN'T!! Can you believe that? Mitch basically pulled his head into his shell, stood his ground and ran out the clock on the Obama administration. And now, ta-daaah, we have Gorsuch. Now of course the Democrats are frothing with outragey outrage about this, as if they wouldn't have done the same damn thing to an outgoing Republican president, so screw them. And yes, thank Trump for appointing Gorsuch, but thank McConnell for making his appointment possible. The positive rulings that will come out of the courts that will benefit our country greatly have only just begun."
Given the string of recent 5-4 decisions, this rant is spot on and Sen. McConnell does warrant credit for having held the line on the confirmation of Garland.

That the balance of the Supreme Court hangs on such a razor thin margin is concerning.

This is HUUUUUUUUGGGGGGEEEEEE:

Anthony Kennedy retiring from Supreme Court

The balance may stay at 5-4 but Kennedy has sometimes been a 'swing vote' so Trump has the opportunity to replace him with a more conservative justice...and a much younger one at that.

I'm hearing that the decision on the Immigrant Ban is being studied closely because it states that while Congress makes the immigration law, it is the Executive that most enforce the law.

Based on that opinion, some are starting to think that the President does not have to give "due process" to illegals trying to cross the border and just deport them straight away.

The Times They Are A-Changin'
Bob Dylan

Come gather 'round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You'll be drenched to the bone.
If your time to you
Is worth savin'
Then you better start swimmin'
Or you'll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come writers and critics
Who prophesize with your pen
And keep your eyes wide
The chance won't come again
And don't speak too soon
For the wheel's still in spin
And there's no tellin' who
That it's namin'.
For the loser now
Will be later to win
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don't stand in the doorway
Don't block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There's a battle outside
And it is ragin'.
It'll soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don't criticize
What you can't understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is
Rapidly agin'.
Please get out of the new one
If you can't lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin'.

The line it is drawn
The curse it is cast
The slow one now
Will later be fast
As the present now
Will later be past
The order is
Rapidly fadin'.
And the first one now
Will later be last
For the times they are a-changin'.

"Because in America, we don't worship Government; we worship God." - Donald Trump

Why in the fuck anyone ever imagined that the President has to give "due process" to foreign nationals who invade the country I never understood. They are criminals, criminals who do not enjoy the benefits of American citizenship. Granted, they are humans and must be treated humanely. But the fast track plan to deportation can be done humanely.
