West Point Communist Leaves The Army With ‘Other Than Honorable’ Discharge

JOHN SEXTONPosted at 3:21 pm on June 8, 2018

Remember this guy? He graduated from West Point and then posted a bunch of material on Twitter identifying himself as a Communist. According to one of Rapone’s comrades, he is being given an Other Than Honorable discharge from the Army this month:

the branch nullify Rapone's military commission after seeing this photo.

The conversation is sure to be informative and lively. Follow this link to register for the conference and to learn more about our talk and others: https://t.co/aG8fmNSI5S

— Rory Fanning (@RTFanning) June 5, 2018

Rapone made news last September after he wore a Che Guevara t-shirt under his uniform and wrote “Communism will win” on the underside of his cap. That behavior was borderline but was just the tip of the iceberg. In other social media posts, he had referred to Secretary of Defense Mattis as “the most vile, evil f**k in the current administration.” He also attacked VP Pence online in ways that appeared to violate UCMJ rules against showing contempt for civilian leadership.

The Army opened an investigation and Sen. Marco Rubio sent a letter to the Army Secretary asking that Rapone lose his commission and be forced to repay the cost of his education. After that, we stopped hearing about Rapone for several months.

According to that same tweet above, Rapone will be speaking at the Socialism 2018 conference in Chicago next month. The conference site includes a speaker’s bio for Rapone which also mentions his discharge:

Spenser Rapone is a former Army Ranger and Infantry Officer recently separated from the military for speaking out against its imperialist violence. He enlisted as an infantryman out of high school in 2010, and deployed to Afghanistan in 2011. After returning from his combat tour, he applied and was accepted into the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY in 2012, graduating and receiving his commission in May 2016. Deciding he could no longer stomach the immorality of US imperialism, he spoke out against the reprehensible actions of the military in September 2017. He ultimately resigned his commission, and was separated from the Army in June 2018 with an Other Than Honorable discharge.

A description of the panel Rapone will be joining reads, “Dissident veterans and former Army Rangers Rory Fanning and Spenser Rapone discuss their paths to resistance, and what socialism means to them.” So if you want to find out what socialism means to Spenser Rapone, you can attend the conference next month. Tickets are $85.

Tickets are $85.

Cuz you know, communism isn't about making money...

Don't West Point students have to be nominated by a Congressman or some shit? Whichever Congress person nominated the little fuck should be the one to repay the educational cost; that would put a stop to such shit.

We don't need any fucking Commies in the World, much less in the United States, and DEFINITELY not in the military, government or schools.

I believe this details the nomination requirements:

Nominations
After determining that you meet the basic requirements to become a cadet, you should begin seeking nominations. In order to be considered for admission at West Point, you need to be nominated. There are two types of nominations, the Congressional Nomination and the Service-Connected Nomination.

We understand this may be an unfamiliar process to you, so it is important you learn what to do and by when. Below is additional information on how to obtain a Congressional Nomination and/or a Service-Connected Nomination. Please read this carefully and contact an Admissions Officer for further questions. Forms are available to fill out by clicking on the links under the respective information sections.

Our online viewbook, or “Prospectus,” is a great source of information. You can find sample request letters and mailing addresses there. Below are some more tips that will help you get started.

Further details at above link.

So you must have a nomination but those nominations can either be "Congressional" or they can be "Service-Connected" (for example son or daughter of career service member, came through a ROTC program, etc). Again, more details at the above link

I wonder which sort of nomination Cadet Commie-lover received?
