At least one shooter, 2 dead and 24 injured. People reported rapid fire weapon sounds near or inside a night club.

Possibly linked to a Country-concert taking place in the city. Very little information available at the moment.

The shooter emptied whole clip during the concert from Mandalay Hotel's 32nd floor.

The footage is appalling, there's a lull in the song and you can hear a whole magazine going out into the crowd without any pauses. Some relatively slowly firing automate rifle, maybe AK, can't tell.

Still no name or other details released of the shooter, the older woman who was a roommate to the shooter is now a person of interest to the case and nowhere to be found.

Concert was sold out and there were ~32,000 people attending. At first many thought it was a part of the concert or fireworks, then the shooter reloaded and fired more. Panic spread as people saw other people dying around them and getting hit.

Police were fired upon also and some were injured. Apparently one shooter who was shot dead as police stormed the apartment.

Chad Thundercock stands with his arms outstretched and tells the shooter "come on pussy"...

Watching CNN and the Undersheriff for Las Vegas confirmed the CNN interviewer’s question that they found at least 8 guns in the gunman’s room.

The Undersheriff also said that a preliminary search indicates the shooter had no criminal background history but did have some (unnamed) traffic incident.

News reports/statements from law enforcement say that the shooter was firing from the 32nd floor of the hotel.
Wikipedia states that the building is: "Mandalay Bay is a 43-story luxury resort and casino".

Photos of the builidng show a smooth faced structure with no exterior room balconies:

Interior photos of various rooms reflect sealed floor to ceiling windows:

This is a modern hi-rise building (most buildings like this do not have windows that can be opened), which then begs the question "How was he able to fire from the room?"

I would suspect that he either:
A) shot the window out at the start of his firing
or
B) used some sort of small explosive to take out the window

After watching some available video on the internet of the shooting I did not hear any noticable explosion sound. It sounded like guns quick rapid fire gunshots (indicating that the shot the windows out).

I am no gun expert but the rapid fire sound of the gunfire might indicate that the weapon was automatic (rather than semi-automatic).
I have never fired a rifle and would defer to the opinion of others on this forum whether that sounds like it is firing of an automatic or semi-automatic weapon.

CNN now reports tbat there were "at least 10" firearms found in the room.

CNN also stated that the man had been checked in the hotel (I don't remember the exact date but I think it was Sept 28th or 29th).
