Local issue but local municipalites clearly need to be careful.

We are definitely swerving into Taliban territory. There will also be pushback. MLK is going to get defaced.

Leave them up. My family tree had people on both sides of the Civil War, the southern ones were not slave owners, at least have not found any.

Hell down here, in Dallas area, they want a statue torn down that sits on ground NOT owned by the city or state. Shit is getting stupid.

My northern kin got drafted. My southern kin enlisted because their new country was at war. From what I have dug up and been told over the years, northern kin were way way more racist than the southern side of the family. Great Great grandad had a black ranch foreman in 1880's from what I was told. Half his ranch hands were black, they made as much as the white hands. He fought on the Confederate side of the war.

They want to do away with anything to do with slavery, how about getting rid of the Democrat party. Hell they were anti black all the way into the late 60's.

State's Rights, before the Civil War many called the USA 'These United States', after, it's 'The United States'.

IMHO the local population should decide. Don't mean like in the French Revolution or the Chinese Cultural Revolution where most decisions were by mob.

So I vote, none of the above, instead have the subject on the ballot in the next local election.

Them ignorant southern ingrates. After W.T. Sherman's blue bellied elves rode into the south on unicorns strewing candy and gold coins in their wake and impregnating all the dimwitted white trash to improve the gene pool, they should be erecting statues of enlightened intellectuals like Al Sharpton.

Let's go for a system where anyone can use violence against anyone as long as they think they have a good reason. Also applies to property.

Such a system does not equate anarchy. Anarchy equates a system without leaders.

Even in anarchist society you can't go around pulling down statues as the society would intervene through police action or so.

The term for such a thing is chaos.

The opposite is order. In ordered society people don't destroy things as they see fit but things are handled through laws and proper channels.

IIRC, most (if not all?) of the statues related to the Confederacy were put up long after the war ended. Generations later in many cases.

It's not like they were all put up by confederates during the war/slavery.

Trivial shit. The far left just needs more targets to froth about; worried their post-election rage generation collective may slow down.
