Yep - as long as we all can forget that Russia is a dictatorship in ways worse than Cuba, Vietnam or Belarus and a country that wages war on a neighbour...

And took part of a sovereign state, ;)

A thing that must not be allowed, ever. Whatever deal are made over the head of the involved (Molotov-Ribbentrop pakt).

So it goes.

It was Tomanbeg.

For his emails he used other nicks. One was Stephen Bouhn.

Hmm, I can remember that he explained that the name comes from touman, a mongol military unit.

Or something.

... "What we are currently experiencing is the brain death of NATO," Macron told magazine in the wake of the United States' decision to withdraw troops from northeast Syria. He said the U.S. appears to be "turning its back on us."

"So as soon as you have a member who feels they have a right to head off on their own, granted by the United States of America, they do it," Macron said, referring to Turkey's military offensive into Syria following the troop withdrawal. "And that's what happened."

Speaking Tuesday, Trump suggested he could see France “breaking off” from NATO but did not elaborate further ...

So macaroni blames trumpf for turkey's actions !!?? :o

I thought the frogs dumped naytoe long ago, back in the 60s .. under de gaul ... did they rejoin and I missed the memo !!??

France returned to NATO in 2009, under Sarkozy.

I don't see what NATO has to do with the Americans in Syria, as they are not there under NATO. At the same time, if I am not wrong, under the article 4 of the treaty, Turkey should have consulted its allies in NATO before invading the North of Syria.

But it is not sure that NATO is concerned there by the Turk invasion of Syria, as it is an invasion, and not a defense against an invader. Even if the Turks claimed that they defended their country against the Kurd terrorists.

Agree, but did not macaroon lead off on this idea ?

Even talking about who is taxing who for what doesn't seem to be directly relevant to military planning :D Not sure who started off with that thread ... trumpf or macaroon ... but that was discussed as well apparently.

I would think who is contributing which brigades where for which purposes and which squadrons and which ships etc. Allocation of resources, command structure, training goals and schedules and issues ... those sorts of topics would be on the agenda for a military alliance ... which I may think it shouldn't exist .. but it still does and if you are going to meet about it you should stay on point right ?

If Macron was so concerned about US troops leaving northern Syria why didn't he offer to send in French troops to replace them?
