Are any of us in possession of the evidence being used in the incident, though? I thought most of the investigation was going on relatively "hush, hush" behind closed boardroom doors. I do find it a little hard to believe that the Murdochs would can O'Reilly if they didn't have pretty damning evidence that his conduct warranted it. The Murdochs are pretty "conservative".

You seem to be drawing an equivalence between "conservative" and "misogynistic" if not "criminal?"

What is your definition of "conservative?"

Since when have so called "conservatives" like the Murdochs been quick to side with feminism and sexual harassment victims? I could of course be wrong, but if the Murdochs are backing someone making sexual harassment claims, then it sounds likely to me there must be relatively substantial evidence of some relatively substantial harassment. Unless the Murdochs are going to claim that it's those horrible leftists who pressured them into firing that poor innocent Bill O'Reilly or something.

Money, the liberal press is running with this and the advertisers are bailing.

As for the Murdock father and sons being conservative, maybe, the father is a businessman and found a niche market, dumping Ailes and O'Riely may damage that market.

The sons are rumored to be a bit liberal.

Will Fox become just another MSM outlet. One of the stars is Shepard Smith and he's hard core liberal:

O'reilly has been a target for years. Advertisers were pressured and threatened with boycotts and PR campaigns so he is gone.

He was also a Trump supporter so this is in an indirect attack on Trump. The advertiser boycott tactic was tried on Limbaugh and it partly worked but other advertizers stepped in.

He'll be fine. He still has the auto parts thing going. ;)

It is going around. Youtube has recently suffered what they are calling the "Adpocalypse."

In sum, The Ctrl-Left Strikes Back

In the last week of 2012 O'Reilly's book were #1 AND #2 on The New York Times’s best-seller list for hardcover nonfiction.

His net worth (in that April 2016 article) was estimated at $85 million.

He is also a big believer in philanthropy:
Quote:
In case anyone doubts his dedication to charitable causes, O’Reilly lists 24 favorite charities on his website. Many of these focus on helping veterans and wounded soldiers. These include the Fisher House Foundation, which provides housing to veterans and their families; the Independence Fund, which helps severely injured veterans; and TroopsDirect, a non=profit that helps soldiers currently serving lead healthy lives.

Other foundations on O’Reilly’s list include the NYC Coalition for the Homeless, The Haitian Health Foundation, Families of Military Casualties, Autism Speaks and Sesame Workshop.

In 2013, O’Reilly’s ongoing feud with Al Sharpton developed into an argument on food stamps after a segment on The O’Reilly Factor. Sharpton accused him of “attacking the poor” and O’Reilly responded by telling his audience that he donated $25,000 to Sharpton’s charity once. Sharpton later told Politico that the donation couldn’t stop him from criticizing O’Reilly anyway.
