You do recall the brave leftists at Dave's gay bath house?

Yup...

I miss Colin Wright, of course I miss the guy who existed before he snapped.....I even miss Pinky Jim.

Same here.

Uncommon Valor was actually sitting on a shelf in Game of all places. Got no idea how such a niche game ended up in there, but it did.

And if I didn't see that, I wouldn't have met all you guys. ;) and in fact probably would've missed out on wargaming as a hobby completely.

Ah yes, you do have Uncommon Valor, don't you.... ;-)
(As information to others, EU's IJN kicked my US ass in an email game of UV).

Good times. 8-)

I actually bought a copy of Uncommon Valor from Game too. Still have it sitting on my shelf. I can't remember if it was that or SPWAW that got me on Matrix. I was late coming to that party, 2006, just in time to get banned for defending the Steakhouse against The Thread shitposters. Fun times.

I'm still proud of saladforum even though it's defunct and all my sheep where stolen :D

Vinny was a great sysop. d00g is good at it too.

I've fumbled around w/ running a bbs. These guys make it look like it's easy. It aint.

d00g has to fuck around w/ stuff and field complaints non stop. More than you could imagine. Try it! He's a badass. Being in charge sucks

Providing an open bbs is a pain in the ass. Eventually someone's got to go, then the bitching gets even worse.

UV was fun. WITP-AE is crack. :)

Currently loading platoons of engineers on beat up PBY's to fly to tiny footholds in the Solomons while the Commonwealth troops are being slaughtered by the thousands by eight Japanese divisions in Australia.

Kingfishers on bombing run. Uglofortresses. Ahh..what geeky pleasures.

Come on man, where are your secret weapons (the Seagulls) at?
Nothing can stop a Flock of Seagulls!

Well, you soften them up with a Gaggle of Kingfishers and then...when they get cocky...you rock their world with a Flock of Seagulls

That was somewhat later - you, UnderCoverNotChickenSalad, CCB, Finnalist etc were hanging out at the NAMB back then.

I see Troopie (an expat South African) post from now and then at another forum.

As for Dave's bath house - which was much later - I was one of the commies there but in all honesty Dave turned out to be more stalinist than leftist when given a little power.
