Hasta Muerte Coffee: 'We need support of the actual community to keep this place safe, not police'

OAKLAND, Calif. (KCRA) —
A coffee shop in Oakland is refusing to serve law enforcement officers for the "physical and emotional safety of our customers and ourselves," according to the shop's social media.

Hasta Muerte Coffee, an employee-owned co-op, will not serve officers in uniform and turned away an officer a few weeks ago, as reported by NBC Bay Area.

The sergeant who was turned away from the shop a few weeks ago said he was surprised by employees refusing to serve him, but walked out without any incident or any coffee.

Coffee shop workers did not respond to requests for comment on the policy, but a post on their Instagram account showed a photo with writing in Spanish that says, "Talk to your neighbors, not the police."

The writing below the photo describes an exchange with a uniformed police officer on Feb. 16, and the post clearly states: "We have a policy of asking police to leave for the physical and emotional safety of our customers and ourselves."

The post includes another picture of Facebook posts in which people object to the shop's policy because they refused to serve a sergeant in uniform who is also the president of the Latino Police Officers Association of Alameda County. On top of the posts, the shop wrote the words, "Not my president."

Continued at above link

That's the shop's policy---their choice.

If I were a member of the police union or an officer, I would tell the shop's owner/manager (unofficially of course) "Fine, you don't want us there, that is your choice. But should you ever find yourself or your shop robbed, broken into, or have some other disturbance, then by all means feel free to call the "actual community", not the police, for assistance".

Anyone want to guess what would happen to a coffee shop in Bezerkely that refused service to a tranny?

There goes half their bidness

If a donut/coffee shop has no police officers there I assume it's a shitty place to get donuts an joe. I'd rather visit a breakfast establishment w/ police there. Not only do I feel safer w/ those guys around - they know the best coffee places. It's like taking an exit for food off the interstate - you eat where all the rigs are parked b/c truckers know it's the best place to eat in that area.

There was a story out of New York some months ago.

A police officer was having a celebration in a function room behind a public bar. A lot of his colleagues were there too.

Some idiot tried to hold up the bar only to find himself surrounded by numerous experienced police officers !

Not necessarily true about the truckers knowing the best places to eat. My dad drove a truck for 50 years and says a lot of trucks at a place more likely means they have easier access and parking.

But what if it was a transexual gay undocumented communist immigrant cop?

That would be a case of discrimination for the Supreme Court, wouldn't it?

. . . UNfuckingBELIEVABLE. I almost HOPE they get robbed and the cops take just a tad bit too long to respond . . .

The first thing I thought when I read the headline was "I bet he is not their president." Read the article and saw that I was right. It's all getting so predictable...

Welcome to the Sanctuary State.

This is very obviously the result, and protection of, illegal alien interests.

Time to enforce the laws and punish those who refuse to do so. Done letting the La Raza types do what they please. Send the foreigners back and build the wall.
