You beat me to posting a link to that band (in this thread).

Here is another from the same school band.

From this it is plainly obvious who won. ;-)

I bet that there weren't any complaints of "cultural appropriation" at the Rose Parade when this band performed there. ;-)

Wars suck.

More's the pity that Imperial Japan's point of view wasn't something like "Asia for Asians" as they claimed, but rather "Asia for Japanese." Kind of the way the PRC is heading these days.

Nothing good for Japan came out of it. Ultimately, not much good came out of it for the US either. Big fricking waste of blood and treasure all around.

Would it be too weird if they played the Col Bogie March?

The Korean war rebuilt Japan. I remember their imitation Zippos, Ronsons, ect, you name it, anything and everything you could think of they copied using beer cans.

As for the bombing, that's imported from the liberal west. Never heard a word of it 'til the '60s, remember a seeing a Japanese movie and in it a girl takes some American tourists to one of the bombing sites and sez; 'This is where the Americans bombed us, they don't like to talk about it.' My reaction was 'Bullshit, after what you did throughout Asia, you got off easy.'

That said, I do admire their unity.
