It comes as no surprise that at the last minute, when the counting showed the "no" vote was threatening the thin lead of the pro-Erdogan "Yes" vote, electoral authorities stepped in to announce they would allow unsealed ballots to be counted, in contravention to the rules.

Erdogan's regime apparently gives no fucks about how they're viewed.

Exactly what I expected to happen.

Ignoring concerns raised by international monitoring groups, President Donald Trump called Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday to congratulate him on the country's contested referendum greatly expanding presidential powers.

Rumor has it Erdogan isn´t too healthy though.

How about a twist of fate - get elected dictator-for-life - die within a year - the less gifted bring it all down in no time.

He is simply returning Turkey to historical mean....

you'd think EUtopia and NATO would be assed to fix him.

I laugh at the people who still hope to bring Turkey to EU.

Or I would laugh at them if I didn't consider their political goals outright treasonous.

Treason. There's a concept we need to bring back.

EUrocrats believe that the nation state is a relic in the way of progress....you'll never convict them of treason while they hold the courts.

It seems like they also threw national interest in the bin while at it.

Well seems Erdogan rigged the referendum, is determined to have his way with the Syrian Kurds and today´s news is:

Quote:
Russian navy intelligence ship sinks after collision with freighter off Turkish coast
By Kareem Fahim and Andrew Roth April 27 at 5:02 PM
ISTANBUL — A Russian naval intelligence ship sank Thursday after colliding with a merchant freighter in foggy conditions on the Black Sea near Istanbul, the Turkish coast guard said. All 78 crew members on the Russian vessel were rescued.

The crew of the freighter Youzarsif H, a Togo-flagged ship traveling from Romania to Jordan with a cargo of 8,800 sheep, was unharmed, and the ship suffered slight damage to its bow, according to local media reports.

In Moscow, Russia’s Defense Ministry issued a statement confirming that the vessel, the Liman, went down after the collision tore a hole in the hull below the waterline.

Too bad about the accident.
The russians will repay in kind ;)
