The new Admin needs to flush the Anti-Law appointees out of the Immigration and Enforcement departments. As far down as they can.

I don't see it happening yet. :x

That would be difficult to do. The LEO employees are generally state or local employees. Federal government has no jurisdiction over that. In some cases the LEOs are elected officials (like county sheriffs). Again, how do you get them out of office, short of the federal government attempting to organize recalls (if that is even an option in some jurisdictions).

PS. I just re-read your response. If you are referring to appointees in the federal ICE/Border Patrol, then yes, they do have some say there. But much of the failures that we have seen are related to actions of state and local authoritees.

Yes, I meant Federal ICE & Border Patrol.

There are still Dem-appointed obstructionist bureaucrats in high positions within those organizations. The people "on the ground" have been complaining about them for years, and they're still complaining about them being in their positions after Trump got elected.

Why wasn’t the suspect in the Boston doctor murders deported?
POSTED AT 8:01 AM ON MAY 12, 2017 BY JAZZ SHAW

If you’ve been following the non-political news lately you probably saw the tragic story out of Boston this past week. A double murder which took place there had all the elements of the beginning of a best selling murder mystery novel. Richard Field, 49 and Lina Bolanos, 38 were anesthesiologists working in the Boston area and were engaged to be married. The successful couple was found brutally murdered in their apartment, raising all manner of questions. Then a backpack full of jewelry was located on the scene. The Boston PD put in the hard work required and a suspect, thirty year old Bampumim Teixeira, was rapidly identified and apprehended after a brief gunfight.

But now things have taken an even stranger twist. Teixeira was in the country legally with a green card (and had been since 2010) but had been in jail until recently for multiple counts of bank robbery. How was this guy not deported, possibly preventing this tragic double murder? Turns out it all came down to technicalities in our immigration system and clever defense attorneys. (CBS Boston)

The man accused of murdering two doctors inside their South Boston penthouse likely avoided the threat of deportation last year when he agreed to a plea deal for two different bank robberies.

According to court documents and an audio recording reviewed by WBZ-TV, Bampumim Teixeira’s punishment for those crimes allowed him to keep his green card and skirt federal immigration laws.

Teixeira admitted to robbing the same Citizens Bank twice – once in 2014 and later in the summer of 2016. At his hearing in September, prosecution and defense attorneys made a joint motion for a 364-day jail sentence.

So they had this guy on charges of robbing the same bank twice (I guess you stick with what works…) and his attorney knew that it could get him booted out of the country. So rather than fight it out in a jury trial he worked out a plea deal with the prosecutors where they would take 364 days in jail for his crimes. Had it been a year or more Teixeira would have been eligible for deportation. Also, he could have been kicked out of the country if he’d been convicted of bank robbery, but despite the fact that he admitted to robbing the bank twice he was given a deal to plead guilty to “larceny from a person.”

Because of that, after serving only a pitifully short portion of his sentence, a few months later Teixeira was fleeing the apartment of Richard Field and Lina Bolanos, their bloody bodies left on the floor and a bunch of their jewelry in his backpack. Why are our immigration laws structured in this way to begin with? And even if we must work under such constraints, why do we have prosecutors and judges cutting deals like this? If someone isn’t even a citizen and is in the country on a green card they are supposed to be under some level of scrutiny to begin with because they are being considered for possible citizenship. We don’t want to automatically terminate that process if someone comes up with a few parking tickets, but one would assume that multiple bank robberies should be sufficient proof that you’re not the type of person we’re looking to add to the melting pot.

Clearly we have more problems in our immigration system than just porous borders and not enough law enforcement officials working on the deportation of illegal aliens. The entire visa and green card system is fraught with issues. We can’t track those who overstay their visas and now it’s becoming clear that we’re not doing a good enough job weeding out the bad apples who wind up with green cards. So yes… we are in need of immigration reform, but it has nothing to do with amnesty. Rest in peace, Mr. Field and Ms. Bolanos. Your deaths could have and should have been prevented, but perhaps this will serve as a sign that we need to do better and hopefully stop this from happening to someone else.

FFS

This guy admits to robbing a bank twice and only receives a 364 day sentence?

And then the dirtbag murder 2 people since he was allowed to remain here.

Illegal Alien Drunk Driver Allegedly Kills Father of Three

An illegal alien who had previously been deported three times is now accused of drunk driving and killing a father of three children in a car crash.

Nemias Garcia-Velasco, a 32-year-old illegal alien from Mexico, was arrested and charged with vehicular homicide after Silvano Torres, a 58-year-old father of three, was killed in a car wreck where Velasco was allegedly driving drunk, according to a report by the Omaha World-Herald.

According to police, Velasco was driving the vehicle drunk with Torres in a back with no seat belt on in Omaha, Nebraska. Police said Velasco had drank 12 bottles of beer before getting behind the wheel. Torres was killed when the illegal alien allegedly lost control of the car, going upwards of 100 mph, and hit a guardrail, with the car rolling over before bursting into flames.

Following the crash, Torres was pronounced dead, while Velasco and another passenger, 16-years-old, were taken to a nearby hospital and treated for severe burns from the fire.

Velasco, though, was not supposed to be in the U.S. to begin with, having already been deported a whopping seven times, dating back to 2005, 2009 and 2011, according to federal immigration officials.

Torres’ girlfriend, Rosa Flores told the Omaha World-Herald she wants answers from the illegal alien.

“If he knew that he was drinking and he knew that he wasn’t able to drive, why did he?” Flores said. “He didn’t stop to think about the consequences of what could happen. It’s not fair that he took the life of somebody else.”

Flores said Torres was legally present in the U.S. and had been living in Omaha for nearly six years, arriving from neighboring states where he found work. Torres leaves behind two daughters and a son, all of whom are currently living in Mexico.

Velasco is being held on a $2 million bond.

TEEN WANTED FOR DEPORTATION IS ACCUSED OF CALIFORNIA KILLING

BY PAUL ELIAS
ASSOCIATED PRESS

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Federal immigration agents were tracking a teenager who was facing deportation when he fatally shot a popular community volunteer during a robbery in San Francisco, authorities said Friday.

The slaying occurred on Aug. 15, four days after sheriff's investigators say 18-year-old Erick Garcia-Pineda stole the murder weapon from the personal car of a San Francisco police officer.

Four days after the killing, Garcia-Pineda's monitoring device was removed from his ankle, triggering an unsuccessful search for him. An immigration judge ordered him to wear the bracelet as a condition of his release from federal custody in April.

The case has stirred memories of the 2015 killing of a young woman on a San Francisco pier by a Mexican national who had been deported five times. A gun stolen from a law enforcement officer was also used in that shooting.

The shooting also ignited a national debate on sanctuary city policies that bar local police from cooperating with federal immigration authorities unless they are seeking suspects convicted or charged with violent crimes.

Authorities say Garcia-Pineda had been detained by immigration authorities in December and released from custody in April pending deportation. In addition to wearing the ankle monitor, the judge required him to routinely check in with immigration officials.

He failed to show up for his August appointment, said James Schwab, a spokesman for Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

ICE said a contractor received a tamper alert on Aug. 19 but authorities couldn't find him. ICE told the man's attorney that his client should report to them immediately.

The sheriff's department says Garcia-Pineda was wearing the ankle bracelet when he was arrested on Sept. 3 on misdemeanor battery charges and deputies removed it. ICE says the Sheriff's Department ignored a request to block his release from jail that day.

Investigators later connected Garcia-Pineda to the killing of 23-year-old Abel Esquivel during a robbery.

ICE agents also asked the local sheriff in May to detain a second man arrested locally who is also charged with Esquivel's murder, Jesus Perez-Araujo, 24.

San Francisco police arrested Perez-Araujo for possession of marijuana and illegal possession of brass knuckles. He was ultimately only charged with misdemeanor possession of brass knuckles, court records showed.

Esquivel volunteered at the Central American Resource Center, which provides legal help to low-income Latino clients and other social services.

"We were shocked to hear the weapon belonged to a police officer," said Lariza Dugan Cuadra, executive director of the center.

Martin Halloran, president of the police officers' union, said the officer did not know his vehicle had been broken into until after the shooting.

"There were no visible signs of the burglary," Halloran said. "The officer, a highly decorated veteran, is devastated."

In the 2015 killing, Kate Steinle was shot as she walked on a pier crowded with tourists.

The San Francisco sheriff had released José Inez García Zárate from jail several weeks before the Steinle shooting despite a detainer request from ICE.

Zarate acknowledges shooting the gun but said it fired accidentally. He has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder.

Jury selection for his trial begins Oct. 2 while the debate over sanctuary cities continues.

The Trump administration opposes the policy and has threatened to withhold federal funds to those cities, prompting lawsuits. A federal judge on Friday barred the administration from withholding funding until a lawsuit in Chicago is resolved.

California's "sanctuary state" bill that would limit police cooperation with federal immigration authorities cleared a major hurdle Friday when it was approved by the state Assembly.

The Senate was scheduled to give final approval to the legislation before lawmakers wrap up the legislative year late Friday or early Saturday.

San Francisco police say Garcia-Pineda and two other young men began driving around the city looking for robbery victims after they stole the gun on Aug. 11.

A police bulletin from 2015 said officers should keep a gun with them when they are in public and that if they are forced to leave a firearm briefly in an unattended vehicle, they must secure the weapon in the locked trunk where it cannot be seen.

--

Associated Press writer Elliot Spagat in San Diego contributed to this report.

So....the local authorities refused ICE's request to detain him.
Futhermore, local deputies removed an ankle monitor that had been placed on the teenager at the order of a federal judge.

Deputy Fife of the local law enforcement office didn't think anything of the monitor that was strapped to the ankle of someone that they arrested and decided to remove it??? WTF!

Local illegal teenager murders someone and the sanctuary bullshit politics of local politicians and law enforcement compound the problem even more.

Another sickening crime by an illegal alien has taken the life of an 18-year-old high school student.

In Greenville, South Carolina, the body of Dianna Martinez-Gonzalez, an 11th grader at Greenville High School, was found in some woods about 300 yards from a roadway near a dam. She was found with a gunshot wound to the head after her friend made a “frantic” call to police.

When they arrived on scene, they immediately located a male suspect who matched the friend’s description. He was taken into custody and later identified as 19-year-old Daniel De Jesus Rangel-Sherrer. Police say the suspect willfully confessed to the murder. Upon further investigation, it was learned that Rangel-Sherrer had already held another victim against her will but she was able to get away. The suspect was charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and kidnapping, WISTV reports.

An Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent said the suspect is a Mexican national who was living in the United States illegally, but had been protected from deportation by former President Obama’s DACA program for illegal minors. ICE issued a detainer against Rangel-Sherrer, who remains behind bars at the Greenville County Detention Center until his next hearing. A judge denied bond, but too bad no one thought to deny him entry into our country in the first place.
