True enough. In the end money talks the loudest.

Facebook... never used it. Same for Instagram. Sorry world, but my business is private. I use YouTube, but there are other alternatives slowly making progress. Political commentators are already starting to slowly gravitate to Bitchute

As for Twitter, here in Spain, folks use Whatsapp. So there is an alternative. And Whatsapp works quite well. Tell your friends to dump twitter.

A great alternative to Google is Duckduckgo. As it says "The search engine that doesn't track you."

only thing I don't like about dudkduckgo: 1. It doesn't seem to have an "advanced search" mode, which I use incessantly on google and have developed good levels of competency in finding what I want, i.e., navigating PAST the paid stuff that gets pushed and on to the more eccentric stuff I tend to be looking for; 2. Not sure how thorough their search algorithms really are. I can get nice consistent results on searching on repeated strings with google over days if not weeks and can "cause" predictable variance in outcomes of searches if I search on things which I know have changed over time. In sum, I find google advanced search predictable. I don't know about duckduckgo, but so far not getting warm fuzzies.

Heh, on the matter of tolerance and free speech . . . been hanging out on Discord a bit getting help with C++ and also designing shit in From the Depths. Some pretty nice communities overall.

Anyway, in one of the "Off-Topic" threads in the From the Depths server there was a discussion about warfare or something and I brought up the Gulf War and said
Quote:
. . . quite possibly the most successful military campaign ever in human history, and ironically one of the least blathered about. I reckon a lot millenials scarcely know what occurred: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wKi3NwLFkX4

To which some little tulip petal (who was not in the conversation but just lurking) said:
Quote:
Don't use millenial as a "slur", it makes you seem like a asshole

Ha!

The whole "social justice" mindset has so permeated global literate English-speaking cultures (which includes a large fraction of humanity for whom English is not their first language) that people think even just a reference to a group not having knowledge about something is a "slur!"

DuckDuckGo still uses some of Google's search engine.

That's the biggest gripe I have about it. It still has a tendency to filter/prioritize results similar to Google. Which isn't always a good thing because Google intentionally manipulates the order of matching results.
