Pretty good vid of Yom Kippur war..although the quality is lousy.

Haven't watched the whole thing but there is some cool shots of Egypt deploying Russian bridging equipment and a self driving Russian ferry in two parts that mates up after it's in the water. Also how they set up the Sagger ATGM. Each Egyptian Sagger gunner is said to have fired 100 practice rounds. If so that is damned amazing. Seems uncharacteristically organized for an Arab army.

Partial Arts...

I could be the catalyst that sparks the revolution
I could be an inmate in a long-term institution
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die
I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by
What a waste...

Magnus and his new friend are heading to Tokyo together. This video is really great from the standpoint of getting to see an elite climber and a total beginner (though very fit, and has obvious natural climbing ability) operating within each of their respective envelopes and pushing the boundaries just a bit.

An interesting post, doctor.

Arab soldiers aren't considered cowards. Their army is crap for arab reasons. Those guys stick together in their trenches and die right there. Their modern armies suck, but not b/c the soldiers are cowards. Cowardly arab soldier is a misnomer. Arab armies suck b/c they suck.

Been drinking I'll go on a bit.

A western tank crew is like Jules Verne's story when ppl are stranded on a island, but there is a engineer w/ them who knows, can build, or repair almost anything. This guy is treated w/ absolute respect. He triangulates their position immediately, then plants a stick to reckon latitude eventually. The guy is a badass. "I'd rather be stranded in a desert w/ this engineer, than be on a lush island w/o him."

An arab tank crew thinks the guy who knows how to fix stuff is a fuckin shmuck.

This culture doesn't serve them well in battle.

This is pretty well done. One or two too many repetitions of the initial sequence, but the variations toward the middle and end are brilliant.
