Took me a while to appreciate this "band" (which I put in quotes because it was seemingly, in truth, one guy, who had a rotating lineup of musicians he "worked with" [he apparently was quite erm . . . eccentric]) for how fantastic it is. His voice is quite distinctive, but apart from that, almost every song I've heard from them sounds distinctive. This apparently was one of his ethos: always try to be original.

Just discovered this one and it strikes me as a rather timeless pop piece

The late DJ John Peel was a champion for The Fall and once described them as "The Fall, always the same, always different". This is the song that got me into the band back in 1990...

There is a website that has the complete Fall discography along with lyrics for the songs here...

I'm not sure that I had even heard this Knofler album before...will give it a listen.

When it comes to the topic of "Privateering", I would say this is one of my favorite "privateering" songs:

A song about a group of Canadians getting "owned" by their cousins to the south. ;)

Extricate, that is a great tune. Yep. They are now officially in my loose collection of "favorite" bands! Thanks!

ADDIT: Privateering, had a quick listen. Sounds like a great one for a lazy Sunday with the wife! Be afraid it would put me to sleep while coding. Dude has a great voice that is for sure.

I think I'm emotionally/maturity now at about the level of a teenage girl. I never liked the Cure back in the day, but now; yeah I get it.

Though granted they did look like freaks and now even worse.

I think this guy owns every WW2 fighter made. He has 3 videos for each one.

Pt3 wouldn't accept the YT brackets but the link is there.

That final link is from the video at 921 second mark. An annoying "feature" of YT. Can be a trick to get a "clean copy at a video's start point once it wants to do that. If you just copy the url before the t=921s that can sometimes work but not always. What I usually do is: move the video back to start point and stop it so it isn't playing. Copy the name of the video (not the url, the actual title). Open a new tab, and a new YT page, then plug the title into the search on YT (or Google which will generally find YT video titles quite accurately). Use that find.

He is coming up on 29 and she is probably at least 25 . . . millionaires, still sane despite several years of global fame. Handles being in the spotlight pretty damn well, and apparently has not let the money/power/fame go to his head . . .

If these two don't stop fucking around and go ahead and make some fucking puppies I'm honestly gonna be pissed. Humanity NEEDS more puppies raised in sane, healthy, beautiful parents' households . . .

Will Smith on how he went from being flat broke to being The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air...
