She's performing Otis Redding in the style of Janis Joplin only doing it arguably better than Joplin. I'm just grateful that she cut loose. That was a hell of a performance. If she ever releases an R&B cover album I'll but it on preorder.

She does have an amazing talent, I don't buy that shy, nervous act though, she is already a veteran of shows like these...

So she can act AND sing. :)

That "Yeaah! Yeaah! Yeaah!" bit at the end was just music crack. That girl can sing. Talk about "high energy". She could power a small city by herself.

I buy the shy nervous. The difference is that when the moment hits you dive headfirst into the moment rather than dwelling on the nervous. Especially when you're that young. i remember a lot of soloist moments when I was 9th grade lead trumpet in marching band and orchestra. You're nervous until the shit starts. Then you forget about that and go for broke.

But yeah, it's not her first rodeo. She was obviously well-choreographed for the AGT thing too. Good for her. Preparation is how you win.

A little something for Wilkerson (IIRC he was in the artillery, right?):

Found a sweet "post-punk" playlist that reminded me of some old favs!

"Top 500 Greatest Post-Punk Songs"

1987 Lips Like Sugar by Echo & the Bunnymen

1982 Bela Lugosi's Dead by Bauhaus

Awesome photograph of Jupiter. Evidently, the robot on the satellite was holding the I-phone vertically.

That looks more like some kind of funky tattoo artwork.

I posted one of the perijove flyby vids awhile back. Looks even more impressive when viewed as the shot composite strung together as it was going by very closely. That thing had to be hauling major ass while slingshotting past Jupiter's gravity well so closely. 8-) Quite an elongated orbit.

Such as:
