In a nutshell:

Bad defeat for Merkel, but not so bad that it is all over. Unfortunately.

But she is vulnerable now and one would wish her hell in the upcoming negotiations to form a 3-party coalition gov with the Greens and Lib-Dems (FDP).

Seems.
Soc-Dems and Schulz himself said they wont do another coalition with Merkel 1st thing after results came in.
The audience in the party central cheered at that, loudly.

Greens and FDP are eager, they disagree on many issues however so this will be fun.

Seems the Merkelist´s Bavarian branch got hit worse than others, with elections in Bavaria upcoming next year.

The Euro was a boom to the German economy.

So yea, they have a great economy and it has cost the rest of Europe plenty.

A really bad deal, as Trump would say.

How a self loathing imbecile whose ambition is to exterminate her own people managed to win a single vote is beyond me.

Well she´s a traitor and an opportunist whose errors of judgement have mounted over the long years, but she´s not stupid.

There is just no telling what her agenda is or even if she has one. Frau Merkel, unfortunately, never met competent opposition in German politics and never faced a contender her equal after defeating Schröder in 2005.

This, and the chancellorship not being limited to two terms have done this country a great disservice.

This report from CNN attributes AFDs strength to disaffection among the middle class and poor caused by a very low middle class income growth and income contraction among the poor in the eastern part of the country. If CNN is correct then the situation in Germany has developed in parallel to the USA: globalism and multnationalism benefit the wealthy while the poor and middle class get hosed.

This is not just a German or American thing. The whole West has seen it's middle class destroyed.

I remember about 15 years ago, the Chinese came into Spain and swamped the country with cheap shoes. 1,500 small businesses producing shoes in my province alone, closed... for good.

Last year, the Spaniard Amancio Ortega, owner of Inditex which includes the clothing chain store Zara climbed to the top of the list as the richest man in Europe and the wealthiest retailer in the world. At the same time 500 small businesses producing clothes in my province alone, closed... for good.

The impact of globalization has wrecked havoc everywhere it moves. The rich are getting richer while the middle class is getting fucked. Add in the dislocation brought on by Amazon and you can see that our future... if it continues... will resemble the medieval ages where you have 2 classes... the Royalty and the serfs.

It's time to put a halt to this shit... but it may already be too late.

Agreed. But American presidents starting with Nixon sold the US middle class out to Globalists. It may well be too late.

We elected Donald Trump just in time. Trump's an idiot. But the US voter registered its disapproval for the last 50 years of governance. It was a statement of rebellion against the NeoCon-NeoLiberal New World Order Advocates and their Globalist controllers. The election of Donald Trump was a political warning shot by the voters and I hope the political elites made note of it.

If not, 2018 could be even more interesting.

America first!

EU is really simple.

Germany exports stuff, if you can't afford it, you get to loan money to buy more German. If you can't pay your loans, the whole of EU will help you with your loans.

The more a politician supports Germany's goals over his own country's goals, the better position he lands at EU in Brussels.
