I thought Haggis was supposed to be some kind of Scottish ethnic cuisine, not a political profile.

Firstly, I will presume that you did not bother watching Sargon's video (but if you did, then I apologize for my presumption).

Next, based on that presumption, you would not have heard about his criticism of Gillian Martin, the SNP member who was named to be appointed the Minister for Further Education, Higher Education and Science.
Unfortunately, the appointment had to be withdrawn due to some controversial statements that Martin had previously made.

What sort of things had she said?
Quote:
in 2007 in which she questioned if promoting transgender rights would lead to images of “hairy-knuckled, lipstick-wearing transitional laydees” appearing in colleges.

https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/ne ... l-laydees/

Some might explain that away by saying that some Scottish people tend to be a bit conservative or hold religious views that do not exactly hold trans people in high regards.
Fair enough.

She also said that:
--- ‘American Jews tip OK, but only if you’ve absolutely busted your hump and everything was faultless in the extreme. Often complain about the quality of the food then the small portions'.
---‘American blacks don’t tip at all – tip next too nothing. To be avoided'.
---'“‘The waiters also black remember, would do anything to avoid serving a table of blacks or be openly disappointed if allocated to one'.

How "very progressive" of her.

The next criticism that was brought up was the SNP's planned "named person scheme".
Every child in Scotland would have an assigned person (a government employee) that the child (or the parents) could contact for questions, to raise problems, etc). There were concerns by some parents that this was essentially a way for the government to spy on them, or to poke their noses into internal family issues. There were concerns that the "named person" could undermine the role of the parents. The Named persons will have power to access confidential data on the family, and to talk to a child without their parents agreeing with what they say. Some objecting to it claimed that it violated the European Human Rights laws, and the "British Supreme Court later ruled that some parts of the legislation do breach rights to privacy and a family life under the European Convention on Human Rights".

Yesterday, the Named person scheme scrapped by Scottish government.

Sargon also brought up the point that based on a poll regarding Scottish independence.
In the poll, 59% of Scots wanted to remain in the UK, while only 41% wanted independence.

The poll also found that only 27% of Scots supported another independence referendum within the next 18 months, while 87% of those who do not want another referendum believe that the 2014 referendum was a 'once in a generation' event.
Nicola Sturgeon doesn't believe the poll....she knows better than everyone else.
