Three men are arrested in connection with the blast, still no info on what caused it...

Quote:
Three men have been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter over a fatal explosion in Leicester.

Five people, including three members of the same family, are believed to have died when a flat and shop were destroyed on Sunday.

The three, all in their 30s, come from East Anglia, the North West and East Midlands, Leicestershire Police said.

While police have not released more details, they stressed there was no evidence the blast was terror related.

Mary Ragoobar, 46, and sons Shane, 18, and Sean, 17, lived in the flat above the shop in Hinckley Road.

They have been officially reported as missing, along with Shane's girlfriend Leah Beth Reek, 18, and Viktorija Ijevleva, 22, who was working in the shop at the time.

Remains belonging to five people have been recovered from the wreckage.

Five people were also taken to hospital after the blast, one of whom remains in hospital with critical injuries.

Specialist teams with experience of searching earthquake-hit buildings had been used in the search operation. This included the use of dogs, cameras and listening equipment.

An investigation into the cause of the blast did not begin until the rescue had been completed. It is expected to take several days.

I blame the Nazis, a UXB from the raid of 19th November 1940.

The Poles make potent vodka, too potent, may be, perhaps.

Hinckley Road explosion that killed five ’caused by illegal alcohol distillery’.

TBH I have never liked Polish vodka, there is a distinct taste of coal in it. Even the best Polish brands have the same problem. The best Russian brands like Moskovskaya and Stoli are not suffering from same problem. Otherwise I can not recommend Russian vodka, unless you want to see less.

But if you want the absolutely best vodka, look to the North. ;)

Na zdrowie.

I was wondering who would want to blow up a Polish supermarket, didn't consider that as a possibility.

I have my doubts. Even making some near spiritus fortis level alcohol, 96.1% by volume, I doubt the explosive energy.

Though I have not being in the business for more than 20 years. I am not a Norse.

But definitely there is a crater under the building. The bobbies will solve it eventually.

A sixth man has been arrested by police investigating the shop explosion in Leicester that left five people dead.

Three members of the same family died when the building on Hinckley Road was destroyed last Sunday.

The arrested man, who is in his 40s and from East Anglia, was being held on suspicion of manslaughter on Sunday.

Three men have been charged with manslaughter and arson with intent to endanger life. Two other arrested men have been released under investigation.

The blast happened at a Polish supermarket in the city's Hinckley Road just after 19:00 GMT.

Mary Ragoobar, 46, and sons Shane, 18, and Sean, 17, lived in the flat above the shop.

Five people were also taken to hospital after the explosion, one of whom suffered critical injuries.

Sean and Shane Ragoobeer, along with Shane's girlfriend Leah Beth Reek, 18, and Viktorija Ijevleva, 22, who was working in the shop at the time, were officially named on Friday as among the dead.

The fifth body is still to be formally identified but is believed to be Ms Ragoobar.

Aram Kurd, 33, of Hillary Place, Leicestershire, Hawkar Hassan, 32, of Eld Road, Coventry and Arkan Ali, 37, of Drake Close, Oldham, are due to appear at Leicester Magistrates' Court on Monday.

See what happens Mac when people discount the most likely answer to a question?

The Beeb are saying that it happened at a Polish supermarket, yet The Sun is saying that Aram Kurd took over the premise in December. I am guessing Polish sausages were no longer on sale...

Quote:
COPS have charged three men over a blast in Leicester that left five dead and several injured.

Shopkeeper Aram Kurd, 33, along with Arkan Ali, 37, and Hawkar Hassan, 32, have been charged with five counts of manslaughter and arson with intent to endanger life.

Mr Kurd, a bodybuilder and former security worker, told earlier this week of his miraculous escape from last Sunday's explosion.

The blast caused his shop and a two-storey flat above to collapse, killing mumMary Ragoobeer and her two sons Shane and Sean.

Lia Reek - girlfriend of one of the victims - and 22-year-old shopworker Viktorija Ljevleva' also perished.

Kurd, who lives with his Lithuanian girlfriend a mile away, took over the Polish Zabka supermarket in Hinkley Road, Leicester, in December.

He told on Monday how he'd been fetching a crate of beer from the back room when the blast tore through the building.

He said: "I managed to pull myself from the rubble and climbed into the neighbouring garden."

The men will be held in custody during the weekend and will appear before Leicester Magistrates on Monday.

Two other men, both from East Anglia and who were arrested yesterday, remain in police custody and continue to be questioned by detectives.

Leicestershire Police refused to comment on reports that the explosion may have been caused by an illegal alcohol distillery.

All of three suspects were arrested on Wednesday after a huge police operation.

Leicestershire Police force again, oh right. No wonder why we don't really know what the fuck caused it.
