Tony Blair and the totalitarian EU and those 'rights' the Remainers bleat about safeguarding.
ARTICLE 125. In conformity with the interests of the working people, and in order to strengthen the socialist system, the citizens of the U.S.S.R. are guaranteed by law:

freedom of speech;
freedom of the press;
freedom of assembly, including the holding of mass meetings;
reedom of street processions and demonstrations.
These civil rights are ensured by placing at the disposal of the working people and their organizations printing presses, stocks of paper, public buildings, the streets, communications facilities and other material requisites for the exercise of these rights.
“The gap in EU finances arising from the United Kingdom’s withdrawal and from the financing needs of new priorities need to be clearly acknowledged.” - Mario Monti

Yup.

I recall sitting in a political science class on the Soviet Union in college.
The professor put up a slide displaying (probably the exact same thing) what you posted above.

A student in the class marveled about what a wonderful thing the Soviet Constitution was, meanwhile many of us in the back were snickering at that student’s naivety.
The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public’s money.

The Weimar Republic had laws restricting freedom of expression. Hitler threw that fact into the face of Otto Wels when it was the SPD being censored and persecuted.

“Late you come, but still you come. You should have recognized the value of criticism during the years we were in opposition (when) our press was forbidden, our meetings were forbidden, and we were forbidden to speak for years on end.” - Adolf Hitler

So that worked out well then.

Perhaps you have never heard about the Versailles treaty 1919? :roll:

Maybe you should tell the speech banning leftards that as there's no Versailles Treaty in the modern West they need to stop making laws over nothing, then.

Perhaps you should be more careful when quoting AH.

Your claim that lack of freedom freedom of speech in the Weimar Republic allowed Nazis to get the power is absurd.

Here is something for you (and me) to read:

My claim, which is obvious truth, is that it didn't prevent it. This is the argument made by a great many, probably the majority, of those who want to limit free speech, 'to save us from (mostly imaginary) Nazis'.

And those tools were used by Hitler to persecute his enemies. Sure, he would've persecuted them with or without them in the end but the legal mechanisms were already there for his use.

True.

This is patently untrue. The anti-hate speech laws are to criminalize hate-speech; come it from left, right or from any source. Of course if you have contrary evidence, show us. ;)

Nah, that is an absurd and ignorant proposition. To think that anti-hate speech laws would have been used to ban political parties is ludicrous.

I have to assume that you not familiar with the Enabling Act of 1933 which opened the road to dictatorship :roll:
