Yeah so? Every University has its local Islamic apologist community and a few borderline Islamic nutjobbers or covert operatives. Its all part of the "openness and diversity thing."

"Yeah so?"

Now the university has him "...suspended from work pending an investigation".

NOW they do that?
Didn't they do a background investigation of this employee before they offered him a job????
Did they miss the arrest only 5 years ago for "terrorism offences"?
Did they miss a 2 1/2 year gap in his Curriculum Vitae (CV) for the time that he spent in prison?

The UK home to up to 25,000 Islamist extremists who could pose threat, EU official warns

2 1/2 years ago the UK was told that there are up to 3,000 "Jihadi Johns" on their watch list who were a potential danger to the nation.

The potential for Islamic radicalization is a known concern but Oxford University hired a guy who just spent 2 1/2 years in prison for spreading extremist material?

Did they not do a background check into his background?
Did they miss his arrest and the time that he spent in prison?
Or did they know about that and decided to overlook it?

I suspect that the only reason they have now suspended his over this has less to do with needing to investigate his background and more to do with the fact that this publicly came out. Oxford intentionally ignored what he had done and ignored the potential risk of placing him on campus with thousands of college students.
