Did they miss the arrest only 5 years ago for "terrorism offences"?
Did they miss a 2 1/2 year gap in his Curriculum Vitae (CV) for the time that he spent in prison?

Did they not do a background check into his background?
Did they miss his arrest and the time that he spent in prison?
Or did they know about that and decided to overlook it?
I suspect that the only reason they have now suspended his over this has less to do with needing to investigate his background and more to do with the fact that this publicly came out. Oxford intentionally ignored what he had done and ignored the potential risk of placing him on campus with thousands of college students.
